Squirm is DMB's Best Song Post-Busted Stuff

crazy opinions in this thread. BW is getting better with age (and less play the last few years). When AFTW came out, I thought it was just below BW, but now I think the gap has grown a bit.

I think this could have been true but I don't think they quite got there with this song.

HERE'S WHERE I SUPPORT WHERE YOU'RE GOING:
-Some songs have lyrics and a tone that is just 'big.' The idea of the song is typically a bit broad and that gives it particular impact when the underlying lyrics are good....I do think the lyrics in Squirm are strong. The song on CD was on a trajectory to be 'big' live.
-Secondly, I agree that the sound of the song, in it's basic format, has become quite beastly live. It works very well with this lineup.

HERE'S WHERE I THINK IT COMES UP SHORT OF YOUR BAR:
-The jam never formed. This song needs the tone and the 'bigness' of the lyrical part to continue through to a jam that 'launches' it. To be short and sweet, and because people tend to love comparisons, it needs to go in the Bartender and Seek Up direction...in fact, I specifically think a vocal jam would be perfect with this one.

The 2013 version has its pluses. One big one being completed lyrics. I love how well the lyrics play into the rhythm of the song.

Totally on board with this list. Only debatable pick for me is Broken Things - find it to be a little overrated.

I will say this. I think lyrically Dave still nails a song on each album. Lyrically squirm is definitely the one he nailed on BW.

I think it's funny, and telling, that songs pre-everyday, they're unanimously thought of as good, overrated, meh, etc. Post-busted stuff, more songs seem to fall on each side of a fan's extreme (best & awful, good & bad, etc).

To answer the original question the answer is absolutely not. Squirm isn't even best off of BW. I would say the answer is sugar will the 2004 versions of the song.
