Re: ryan adams.

Tickets for his Austin show are going for way too much on CL. Bummed. Really want to go.

Finally got around to getting the new album. Still have to give it some more plays but liked it the first run through. Someone's review I read was very spot on when they likened a couple songs to Tom Petty, especially "Stay With Me"

If I could do the Carnegie Hall shows I would be there in a heartbeat. Wish he was coming to Denver. Just got 29 on vinyl in the mail today. Sounds very good. I'm as big of a fan of him as DMB. They both are the best.

Crossing the last big name off my concert bucket list on December 3rd. Can't wait as I have been a big fan since 2009 without a good opportunity to see him. I like the new CD, Gimme Something Good and Stay With Me do remind me of 80's Tom Petty. Still skip Kim every time though.

Was almost surreal seeing Ryan doing a solo acoustic show at Carnegie Hall last night. Unreal performance, great banter, great show.

It was completely unexpected. So good though.

The sound/acoustics in that place is world class.

Letterman performance was really cool, love Dave's reaction after the show just asking them to play more! Don't see that very often. Ryan's guitar tone in that new track is massive.

Friend of mine who participates in listening sessions with me and a few others once or twice a year feels the same way, he's listening on a really nice analog set-up that puts mine completely to shame, Roksan Xerxes turntable worth at least $12k and very nice speakers, says the new vinyl doesn't sound very good at all and speaks highly of the MOFI Love is Hell pressing and most of Adams' other vinyl releases. I haven't heard it though.

He just ran out of time. Carnegie is strict with curfew. He joked that he's always late to things so his crew puts the clock on "Ryan Time," or something like that.

Yup this. He said he'd be fined like 50K or something if he went past curfew.

Part of what has been hesitant to open it is the damn thing is apparently worth like $600 or $700 these days (possibly more, apparently one sold for over $900 recently). I mean I like Ryan Adams a lot, but at some point I don't need to own a box set that is worth that much. If it's worth that much to someone else, then I'd almost rather have the money.

seeing him and the band a month from today. expectations for setlist aren't high, but looking forward to it. Bryan Adams-ized versions of the old songs are interesting to say the least
