Yeah this had nothing to do with where they were though. They knew what kind of crowd they were playing for.

Everyone looks at it and it's just there.
It wasn't a tour show. It was a gimmick gig.

Legit question: Are you saying what you listed is good or unique for a "festival show"?

I get it why You and Me is there, but if you scratch off Mercy that is one stellar set for a gig like this. I agree that they did a primo job with the selection. I would've definitely walked away feeling I got more out of it than expected.

I'm pretty sure this was the type of set everyone was expecting for a main stream show like this....and if you were expecting them to bust out a bunch of gems you must not follow the band very closely

I mean, for what it was, I'd be satisfied if I'd attended. It was an easy paycheck for them - not a real gig. Couldn't see them spending lots of time rehearsing Last Stop for that small of a crowd when they probably won't even see each again for another 2 months.

I know for the NFL Season Kick-Off show in 2010 in NOLA they played an 8-song afternoon set and it was a blast. Very, very vanilla but still a lot of fun. Dave was cutting up the whole time (he was mocking Taylor Swift who was on the same bill for some reason haha!) and they looked like they were having fun. Everyone was super close to the stage and the production crew did a good job of getting everyone involved.

For something like this, I'll give them heavy props for no Seven and Shake Me, and deciding to roll with DAD. Of all the BW's tunes, Why I Am was a refreshing thing to see on the set.

I got what I expected out of last night. This wasn't a summer tour show.

They're one of dozens of acts playing as part of the festivities leading up to the Super Bowl.

They expected a crowd that maybe doesn't know their material as well and was just looking for a fun night out, so they leaned more on hits and singles. I'm OK with that.

I think there were A LOT of die hards there. Aside from tickets being set aside for promos/guests of the network, only a die hard would get tickets and make the journey.

I had a great time. No complaints about the setlist. There was so much energy in that place.

I met A LOT of non diehards going to the show. There was definitely a big contingency of people there for the scene and the fact that it was a concert more than they were there for the artist or the music.

Interesting. My perception must be getting the best of me because I was surrounded by die hards.

Overall, I thought the crowd was fantastic.

Nothing was worse than watching that live stream during the OSW opener at WPB back in '06. I sat there cringing and felt sorry for the guy.
