Mee-bane is exactly how I would have pronounced it.

Me-Bane... why would that be pronounced Meh-Bin (not disputing that it is)?

    English language is fucked.

Isn't there a Houston (hows-ton) Street in NYC - it's some line of demarcation too if I'm not mistaken.

    Love the Hulk Hogan choice!

We're dancing to Lover Lay Down. Love your choice as well, though, Something is a top 5 love song.

We're a little more than two weeks away, now. 16 days to be exact. Crazy how time flies. What really sucks is nailing down all the little details like place cards, table numbers, card box, etc.; all the things you're just like "oh yeah we'll take care of that when the time comes". Well the time is fucking here and it's driving us both nuts

Good choice there too. We are still just under a year out so we still have time but it's still sneaking up.

We are trying to think of good songs for each pair of groomsman/bridesmaid to intro to, the only one set in stone is my cousin and the lady hes walking with are entering the reception to the seinfeld theme song. and I'm leaning towards old time rock and roll for the best man because he simply despises that song.

Always good to troll someone, especially at your own wedding.

I don't even know if we have the option with our band to pick specific songs for each couple of the wedding party. I just kind of assumed they'd play something sort of upbeat. I'll have to ask if we can choose songs for each individual couple, that's a cool touch.

Yeah we have a DJ, we haven't talked with him about it but how could a DJ not be able to.

A bit different than with a band though.

Six days away now...so of course yesterday and today I've woken up with a sore throat

Add to that the threat of a fucking hurricane (!!!!) barreling up the eastern seaboard which may give us a downpour on Sunday. Everyone please pray for some strong west-to-east winds that blow that MFer out to sea!

Take lots of vitamin c and airborne/ emergen c.
Also, if I'm getting sick and really need it get over it quickly, I'll take elderberry / sambucus.

Hope Matthew doesn't dampen your day! Rain is supposed to be good luck, so a hurricane of rain might be extra good luck!!

    Re: Wedding Planning Stuff

The big day was this past Sunday. What an awesome, awesome day. Easily the best day of my life. Cried about 50 times, just felt overwhelmingly fortunate and lucky for having landed such a beautiful and caring woman. It's such a great feeling knowing you've got a partner that will be at your side for life. Felt very blessed to have so many people travel from so far away to come celebrate us.

The reception was awesome, everyone has been texting me the past two days raving about the band, the food, and the venue. For those of you who are planning a wedding and can't decide band or DJ- go with the band, 100%. Makes such a huge difference. So happy we decided to go that route.

Crazy to think that all the stress and planning is over with now and that the day has come and gone so quickly. I really tried my best to savor every second, and my wife (feels weird to type that!) and I continued to remind each other to just be present and try to soak it all in. Looking out over all our closest friends and family as we were eating dinner was truly something special. Everyone had a great time and we couldn't have asked for a better day. Other than some rain in the morning it was a pretty nice day, albeit a little overcast, but it cleared up and got sunny right in time for cocktail hour and into the evening. Back to work for a few days and then off to Punta Cana on Saturday!

    Thanks fellas!

Also, just wanted to footnote this, but the guy that I didn't want to invite (the bridesmaid's boyfriend) wore fucking white khakis to the reception. The invitation said "formal attire". What a fucking jabroni. Didn't say two words to him all night, honestly forgot he was there. He tried to come into the bridal suite before cocktail hour while we were all partying it up and my wife told him no . I knew I picked that woman for a reason!

I just sent out mass messages to friends and family invited, telling them if they want a cabin at the venue to get on that shit, since there are only a limited number and they are going.

Nobody will be able to say they didn't have a chance.

Dude, the one thing I will tell you having just gone through the process, is to only worry about yourself and your future wife. Let everyone else worry about the extraneous shit like where they're staying. If people have questions, sure, go ahead and answer them. We put our hotel info on our wedding site and in our invitation packet, and everyone figured it out just fine. If they didn't, we were so busy and preoccupied with ourselves the whole day that we never even found out about it.
