They could have wiped out the cartoon when they got rid of everything, but I assume they made it canon for a reason.
In the Clone Wars, Maul 'comes back' and is made to serve Palpatine before Anakin turns to the dark side. It makes sense because it shows that the sith will forget their own rules (Rule of 2) in getting more power. And now they have shown a little of what he has been doing behind the scenes in Rebels, and it's awesome.

Found YouTube vids for anyone interested in Maul, but obviously doesn't have time to invest in the cartoon.

Maul's brother, I guess he knew Maul but only recently found out they were related, found him like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IkZf6XJ26c

Maul explaining himself after he stops being crazy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvJiunochio

I guess I meant more so SW fans that don't accept the cartoons. I know a lot of fans that won't watch the cartoons or even hold that they're canon. Most of them claim it purely because they're cartoon, which is dumb to me.

Daughter would be hard because VII is 30 something years after IV, and Rey is not 30.

It seemed like he gave up being a Jedi before Luke came around. Maybe the Rogue One girl is his daughter, and Rey's mother. What else is he doing on that planet?

Yea, I guess that doesn't surprise me that there's people like that, but it's kind of silly to even care that much. Isn't there a lot of things that were in books that have been alluded to in movies? Do they ignore that stuff, too?

Can someone clear this up? If the Jedi didn't need to be celibate, that would be the ultimate - being a Jedi has to help you get some, but also is a great excuse why you can't call or go out again.

So the Jedi are basically allowed to have one night stands or FWBs. Nice.

I'm surprised at the resistance among Star Wars fans who don't seem to have seen TCW or Rebels to embrace Maul's survival.

If you turn up the trailer it does sound like a Vader exhale when the hooded figure appears.

And I love the sound of the alarm, it is hauntingly awesome.

And Han fell down a shaft. And Boba Fett fell down a sorta shaft. Man, Star Wars, get a new way to dispose of bodies.

AT-AT's battling in the sand. 30 years later Rey lives in an AT-AT in the sand. The strings are being tied together.

I'm calling it now. New Rogue One girl is a Jedi who goes double agent to get in with Darth Vader. Pretends to turn to the dark side. They keep saying this movie will blur the lines between good and evil. So new girl has to do some bad things for the greater good. Including banging Darth Vader! Vader is Rey's father.

I just hope they don't steer too heavily into the "oooh, ya know Diego Luna's character will be the father of Poe Dameron!!", and the like. I mean c'mon, this is supposed to be a massive, just huge universe, epic in its scale. And all's they do is make it smaller and smaller when every other character you meet winds up being directly linked with another one you'd seen before.

The woman who's questioning Jones' character here, like reading off the wrap sheet and she's the one to whom Jones says "I was rebelling" -- is that supposed to be literally the same character from the OT who says "many Bothans died to give us this info"? because if so, they fucking nailed the casting on that one. It looks a shit load like what my memory is of that character.

Han arguably was injured less than maul was and is insanely more popular. Can't wait for his triumphant return

I'm still a bit surprised that Gareth Edwards is directing this. Correct me if I'm wrong, but he really only has one notable film under his belt (Godzilla), right? That's not to say he isn't a talented director, but I'd think the studio would want someone with more work to his/her name. Regardless I'll be seeing this opening night

That is how it works now....make one movie and get huge blockbuster.

Sometimes it works (Guy from Jurassic World) after Safety not Guaranteed.
Sometimes it does not (Fantastic 4 Reboot) after Chronicle.

And pretty sure the last one was originally attached to one of the Star Wars movies.

That is a pretty rad theory. However, can Darth Vader still produce offspring? Think he just keeps that helmet on when he gets busy? That would be a pretty baller move if he did.

Well Star Wars is the story of the Skywalker family, so it's definitely plausible. Of course, Kylo Ren is a part Skywalker so who knows.

There's not a lot of great Jedi for her to descend from that would make her that naturally powerful. So Obi or Luke would make a lot of sense.

I just don't get this argument. if the force is supposed to be this very powerful omnipresent thing, that can reach even some random little kid in a desert somewhere, I don't see why rey can't be force sensitive out of nowhere

are all the younglings that anakin killed the kids of the jedi council members or something?

Genevieve O'Reilly is reprising her role as Mon Mothma in Rogue One. She was the actress who played her in Sith (I think her scene was deleted though).

In Return of the Jedi she was played by Caroline Blakiston.

    Both Mon Mothma, different actresses.
