Just read about that earlier today, don't see why it wouldn't be real. My buddy went through a pretty similar circumstance (although not camera related); Someone stole his bike in Denver and after a few days he decided to check Craigslist to see if someone was stupid enough to put it on there. Sure enough, there was a posting for his bike along with some lame story the thief made up about how he loved riding but could no longer do so blah blah. He called the cops and arranged a meeting with the 'seller' to test it out. He rode down the block where the cops were waiting and gave a thumbs up to show it was indeed his bike. Cops moved in and ended up having to chase the guy through multiple apartment complexes before finally arresting him.

    Matt,

Did you get the Fuji x100s yet? I guess mine should be here tomorrow. I only ordered it a couple weeks ago, so I was surprised to get a shipping notice so soon.

My card was charged but haven't received word from Adorama that it has shipped yet. I should've used amazon for my order, because my shipping is going to be SLOOOOOW.

Yeah, Amazon came through (plus I had about $270 in Amazon credit from a promotion on a TV I bought in December). The camera feels really nice. Haven't had a chance to use it yet, but I think it's going to be a really fun camera to use.

That's awesome... I just used some Amazon credit for some umbrellas and stands and other BS...

I handled the camera at WPPI last month... It made me realize that it will be hard to part with once I get it...

My real problem is the accessories I need for it. Like the adapter ring to put a protection filter on it. Apparently they make hardly any of them, so everyone is out of stock on it. I'm kind of afraid to use it much until I get that. Something happens to the lens on this thing and it's screwed.

B&H just got the lens hood and filter adapter in stock, so I placed an order for it. Should be here next week.

The eagle has landed... Battery charging now... I'm amped!

It's smaller than I remember, which is great.

I'm breaking out my 4x5 camera to shoot some landscapes this weekend, and I'm actually more excited that this just arrived

I haven't found which I like most yet... The optical viewfinder gives me the clarity I want and the electronic gives me the accuracy I want. I don't like the garbled video feel of the EVF, and I feel like I'm wasting battery if it's on much. I think it'll be something I use on an as-needed basis. Almost like the DOF preview on an SLR...

Matt, if you haven't got a filter for your x100s yet, I highly recommend it since the lens has no protection otherwise. The filter and the adapter ring required to use it just arrived today.

    http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h1...ps152612d6.jpg

I managed to find a B+W filter that is made in a chrome finish (seemingly made specifically because of the x100).

Here's the adapter plus lens hood (or you can get the adapter ring alone):

Started using this site on recommendation from a friend: http://www.behance.net/roose13

I'm gonna start taking photos during warm ups of Flyers games (cover them for a site) and have this handy as just a little side project for future employment. In the mean time I uploaded some older stuff I took.

This is the first image I've published with the x100s... I wanted to write up my thoughts on the camera, but I'm not sure I have the desire or time. Lots of things I love about it, a few things that bother me (I'm quickly learning my way around most).

You can see some of my recent photos here:

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/benckphotos/

The last 2 years I had done some fill-in work for the team, but the lady that had been hiring me left the organization last August. So basically I had to start over on building a relationship with their communications department and the people who are running it now are less receptive unfortunately. The guy running it likes my work, but they already have their regular staff photographers.

really like the shot of Hamilton in the batter's box.

sucks about having to start new. do spots open regularly with the team as official photogs leave for other gigs or is that something that people do for life? would love to hear more about that. What you do, acces you have when you do get allowed in, etc. Trying to live vicariously through your photos

I shoot games for a small local sports reporting company, which gets me a credential for games, but I'd prefer to do work for the team because it allows for more "inside" access and behind-the-scenes stuff. Spots on the team do not open often at all. The Twins are unusual because they actually have 3 photographers on staff. They split up the work between the 3 of them. Most teams only have 1 photographer and, yeah, it's usually for life unless the person decides to leave for some reason. The Twins used to only have 2, but then they added the 3rd starting in 2011. The lady that used to hire me at the Twins actually wanted to add me as a 4th, but it didn't get approved by the department head from what I understand. I was never told exactly what happened though. The photographers the Twins have now are good people though. I'm not looking to replace them by any means. I just want to be able to contribute.

Agreed Ben... I love your work... And I truly admire your dedication to photography you love. The amount of coverage you provide is amazing. I imagine there are probably people on the Twins staff that make it to less games than you.

Thank you very much. I try to photograph one game per visiting team series. So it's going to work out to between 20 and 30 games this season. Each of the Twins photographers definitely photograph more games than I do (they each do about 50 I think, most games they have 2 working covering different things), but I still attend virtually every game (70+ per season). At the very least I was hoping I could help add to their Instagram feed since I try to use it every game I go to and I go to a ton of games. Trying to schedule a meeting with the guy running their department has been very difficult even though he has told me he has heard my name a lot and he likes my work. It's been very frustrating since the lady running their photo department left.
