They had freaking Pliny on tap! Better yet it was only $4.50 and the guys insisted on buying the rounds. This place is literally a 3 minute drive from my house - I will be back regularly (and probably be that creepy out of college guy drinking at a college bar).
That sounds awesome. I need to find this beer ASAP.

Then you better go to PA. Because you won't find it near you.

Edit: Although rumour has it that this place serves it in Boston. Which is a no no. http://www.seiyoboston.com/

I know, a friend of mine got it in a trade recently, but she drank it without me. That whore. Next time she gets it in a trade she said she'd save some for me.

And that sucks that DFH is that expensive around you.

They were talking about it on Beer Advocate not long ago. Apparently, you can find lots of places in America that sell it illegally. Hell, you can even find Westvleteren in some shops sometimes, which is a huge no no.

    Grazie.

I might bite the bullet and look for some on eBay. That's how I got my 2003 120 Minute IPA.

Don't do that. Either trade for it, or wait for me to get more and I'll send you some. If you get it on ebay, you're gonna end up paying way too much and probably get a less than fresh bottle. And you never know how the person stored it.

Still have two. One in the cellar, one in the fridge. 2008 edition. It's just...too much for me. It really is. I can't even drink half of one by myself.

I can see that, but I drank the entire bottle on my own last night. I was feeling pretty damn good after that. Tonight I'm drinking The Lost Abbey Inferno Ale. Pretty good beer, wouldn't say it's spectacular or anything, but a well made beer for sure.

I'd love to set up a trade with you. I'm sure I can get my hands on some stuff here that you don't have access to.

They brew it with angel tears. It's also brewed with honey and cherries, coming in at 11% abv. A perfect beer after a holiday meal or on any cold evening.

Alright, I know I mentioned doing this in the past, but I really think we should do a beer exchange. Basically, we would need a even number of participants (I'm hoping for around 10). Each person gets matched up with another in a different geographic region and they exchange beer based on certain criteria (minimum of X number of ounces total, or something like that).

I wanted to make a thread about it, but thought I'd post it in here first so the beer lovers on Ants can get in on it first if they so desire.

PM me if you are interested.

I have Mojo in my local liquor store too, I have a 6 pack in the fridge. It's not bad, a little strong on the citrus but it brings the IBUs in a nice way.

I'm still really digging the Flying Dog Raging Bitch (Belgian-style IPA), has anyone tried it?

Headed to the liquor store this afternoon and will be looking for something new. I'm kind of getting sick of the choices in my area. Will probably pick up some DFH Punkin (maybe the last time before the season ends) but always looking for new IPAs.

Last night I had a bomber of Nogne O Andhrimnir Barley Wine Ale from Norway...the night before I had their Imperial Stout. Both are very very good, and the stout was just fantastic.

Picked up a 6 of Flying Dog Raging Bitch, will be enjoying one shortly. Only 1 today though, I have studying to do later and just realized that it's 8.6% alcohol.

Verdict: Fantastic. Halfway through and it's delicious. It lingers in your mouth like an IPA usually does, but it's not as bitter. I really like it.

Glad you tried it and liked it. It's definitely not your typical IPA due to the Belgian influence.

Yeah, I'm not sure what it is exactly, but it has subtle Belgian influences. I really don't have a good grasp on Belgian style beers so I'm not sure what gives them their distinct flavor. I've been meaning to start exploring them more but I can't stop trying new IPAs. I feel like I'm running out of IPAs to try in my area though, so...

I love IPA's, but they have such a distinct flavor that you can get sick of them pretty easily.

Is your location still accurate? Still in Boston?

I use to get tired of them more frequently but lately when I don't have one I really miss the bite and IBUs. A lot of non-IPAs are too sweet for me to have more than one or two.

    Yeah, 5 min north.
