I think the same way about deep dish pizza as I do about pancakes, donuts or really thick porter beers... Whenever I start eating it I think 'Oh my god, this is everything I've ever wanted and I could eat 3 deep dish pizzas', but then 3 bites later and I've had about all that I really want. I don't think that's necessarily an indictment on the type of pizza so much as it is a statement of my preference. When I'm in the mood for pizza, I'm in the mood for NY style, that's just kind of how it goes.
I'm not sure what exactly is the New Haven claim to fame... Is it the brick oven style that makes it New Haven? That's super popular here in DC, and I think I like that the most, personally.
