Agreed.

Quote:
Seeds were planted for the season, and they're all exciting seeds. I'm really interested in how this is all going to play out. I just hope they tie it into the first two seasons. I think they will.
No question about it. I'd never even doubt it in my mind. What was up with the season finale last year?

"There isn't going to be any war, Max. The President found out about the Cyprus Recording."

"Well.....we're going to have to do this another way."

"What?"

"You'll find out...it will start today."

[Enter Mandy]

So Mandy gave Palmer a pretty bad bug, but he pretty much recovered. We can't assume that anything is over though, because of what Max said, "We're going to have to do this another way...it will start today."

Their original objective wasn't just to kill Palmer, which they didn't succeed at anyway. You have to ask yourself if death was even their objective in the first place. "It will 'start' today." They got Palmer, but it was just the start. Foreshadowing of some biohazard/virus.

Another thing I just realized:

Exactly WHAT was the objective of starting the war in Season 2????? It was hinted that Kingsley wanted the war to start so the value of his oil holdings would triple. Good reason, but Kingsley was obviously just another pawn being used from an order higher than him. So what was their reason for wanting the war? I think it's safe to assume that their objective is still being sought after in this season.

And you KNOW that they're going to secure the bag of coke around hour 5 or 6 but the stupid kid will probably keep a couple grams for himself and fuck everything up.

But that ending - with Jack and the needle. Talk about sitting on the edge of your chair.

malonestar - I agree. They planted too much thought at the end of day 2 to just let it dissolve. I loved how they kept the "higher organization" feel to it, and I hope that this season is just another fascet of it.

I have to admit, this didn't really intrigue me all that much. It just seemed like another boring movie (which I'm not big on), though it did have some wierd scenes. Maybe it's because I missed the first two seasons - anyone care to give me a quick synopsis?

My thought was that it might not have been heroin in the needle.

I never saw him cook anything and it looked like he got whatever it was from a vial.

I'm thinking that maybe he's taking methedone (sp.) to quit the heroin and now is obviously trying to kick the methedone habit.

A huge percentage of people don't have that insight though, so I doubt that's what they're going with the story. Besides, Chase said something like "I know what they did to you...so do what you have to do to get through today."

Anyone ever see Narc? Same kind of story. Undercover agents get hooked on the drugs that are around them so they blend in and retain their cover.

yeah...but Jack *also* has that heart problem or whatever that resulted from the interrogation last season. I wonder if Jack will die and Chase will replace him as main character...it was said after S1 that Keifer didn't want to do many more seasons...

@ cavecricket: you need to watch seasons 1 and 2. of course it'll be boring if you don't know what's going down..and something *is* going to go down.

I read that in the first few episodes of this season that there will be a plot peak unlike anything ever done on TV before. I can't wait.

Kiefer has stated in a few of the interviews that have been on tv the past few days that he wants to do the show as long as he can.

That scene was gripping. Best drama I've seen in a while.

I still think Nina and Mandy work for Germany who wants to bring down the U.S. from the inside.

What an awesome premier. I definitely think this will eventually tie into the overall plot.

I was worried about Kim working at CTU, but it turned out believable.

See? I love reading stuff like this. Sure, there are other good shows on TV, but show me a series where people get this excited about it and proclaim that it is the best they've EVER seen. I don't think you'll find anything else like it. The people who know the show know how good it is, and that makes me happy to see. Here's hoping that 24 gets its due credit this year.

No one, really. He's new this season. Just a role player due to the situation.

Bauer was in Mexico, hunting down the Spanish guy that killed the lawyer. to get close to him, he had to do stuff...stuff like Heroin. So now he's addicted. We think...it'll be cleared up later on, i'm sure.

The encore is on tonight at 9 on FOX. Keep in mind though, that they will have commercials so there will be a couple of "non-essential" scenes cut out to make up for it.

I for one will be watching it again.
