I'm from CT as well so I caught it real quick. That comment and the premier last year with the kid at school I thought was a little too soon.

Too soon or not, it was just very poor taste. I had less of a problem with the school shooting episode. To joke about it was just poor taste and I generally don't offend easily.

It hasn't been explicitly stated in the SoA thread. It was a big thing in the Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones threads. I wasn't trying to condemn you, just offering a friendly piece of advice. Some people go to extreme lengths to avoid previews and out of respect to them we usually just try to spoiler that stuff. Stuff gets out and sometimes people get butt hurt but it is what it is. Just trying to offer a friendly warning before someone got mad at you.

Agreed. Dramatizing a kid shooting up a school is in poor taste regardless of timing or anything else for that matter. It's too sensitive of a subject in this day in age. I get that he wanted to make a point to show how destructive the Sons decision had become but there were better ways to go about it than being that explicit. That's Sutter trying to make the show graphic and people uncomfortable. Like I've said plenty of times, he needs a leash.

While I agree that Sutter is motivated by being as grisly and graphic as possible, I'm always in favor of as much artistic freedom as possible.

If our artists can't throw out ideas — even difficult ones or ones we might not agree with — where else can we?

I think this is exactly the time to be dramatizing school shootings.

It didn't offend me, but I thought the school shooting was purely for shock value (ultimately it wasn't necessary to the plot). Comment was tasteless, but considering the character who was uttering it, it didn't feel out of place.

It was necessary to the plot. The school shooting brought the gun business to a place where it bothered Jax emotionally. Him selling guns to gang bangers doesnt bother him because as the Joker would say "its all part of the plan" , but his business leading to the death of children was the final straw to get 100% away from guns

I thought the point was that the school shooting brought the Feds down on them and that made Jax want to get out. School shooting certainly wasn't necessary to deliver that plot movement.

What you're saying makes sense, I guess I just don't remember Jax getting too broken up about it emotionally as much as I remember him fearing the weight of the Feds.

I don't think you were being a dick, unlike a couple others were. However, something should be placed in the title so not to talk about previews. I think it's unfair for a person to know that previews that air after the show are not fair game without being told so. I don't think the school shooting is one of the worst things on here. I didn't find it offensive.

Wasnt offended by the school shooting, I think they did it in a way where it wasnt bad. Unfortunately the world we live in has sick shit like that happen more than it should. The Newtown reference wasnt needed, but ultimately was a very small line from a character we arent supposed to like, so I dont think its anything too bad.

With that being said, Im really looking forward to tomorrow night's episode

This season has been so much better than the last. It hasn't been spectacular but it's been much more on point that S6. That should also speak to just how bad S6 was.

I definitely agree that S6 was the worst, and I think this has been the best season since S2... Love what Sutter is doing with Juice, the Mayans, 1-9ers, and Samcro.... I think it would be really cool if Jax patches over the Bastards as well.. Each episode this season has a purpose, last year there was too much fluff

Tig's daughter dying and Opie's death much more disturbing to watch than the school shooting.

Those ... and also Tara's death, the premiere torture of the asian guy, Otto's prison rape, and probably a few other scenes Im forgetting at the moment have been much worse than the school shooting

I agree that Opie, Tara and Tig's daughter were all heart-wrenching moments but the school shooting was still the worst to me. It was gut wrenching to watch because it made all the news headlines so real. Thankfully, I've never experience that stuff beyond seeing it on the news so it kinda put me in the place of previous school shootings. It was more of a psychological disgust than anything else. I literally felt sick every time I though about it for a few days after.

The Opie, Tara, Tig's daughter, etc. all pulled on my heart more than anything else. Those all played on my emotions and feelings toward the characters.

My reaction was the exact opposite. I certainly don't mean to downplay the awfulness of a school shooting. But, when watching the TV show, because they didn't show the actual shooting on camera it was not a disturbing to me. After the Tig and Opie scenes I felt sick to my stomach.

I definitely felt sick after the Tig & Opie scenes. I think seeing a kid, a child, take out a gun and carry it into a school then the blood splurts on the windows is what made me sick. I guess I left the show and started thinking about the reality of the situation and it got to me more. That's not to say the Tig & Opie scenes weren't rough. They were, especially Tig's daughter - she was innocent and had to pay for Tig's sins.

All in all, the show is messed up It's handsdown the most gruesome show I've watched.

I didn't think Jax shot him? Did he? The guy freaked out and tried to get the gun on the table but wound up falling through it.

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, why do we keep dragging the Juice story line out? I mean it's kind of ridiculous at this point. I fully expect him to be a full member of the club by the end of this season if the club even exists by then.

    Idk.

As soon as Juice didn't go suicide by cop, I figured he was going to go in and kill whoever it is they need dead in jail (Jax talked to Marylin Manson about it; said he just needs to set it up, Jax's guys would do the deed). Then Jax said this episode that Manson would take Juice out. So kill two birds with one stone...

Things may not (probably won't) go according to plan, but Juice isn't coming back into the good graces of the Sons, unless it's through death.
