Re: ***Official Ohio 2014***

Pretty much should expect by now that this website will always have a problem with pretty much every show. Did I wish the set went 20 minuets longer? yes. Did I have the best experience ive ever had in 16 dave matthews band concerts? Absolutely. Song choice: Old Classic Hits (Crash, So Much To Say, Ants), Live Favorites (41, Two Step, So Right, Why I Am), Hardcore Songs (Say Goodbye, Halloween, Good Good Time), Good new songs (Snow Outside, Belly Belly). I mean this show had all the bases covered. I am not saying this was the best show ever or it should be thought of as one, but it was a damn good show that I had a blast at, and finally got a stick from. Really dont know why every show needs to be picked to pieces and judged so freaking hard. Just enjoy it people

    Re: ***Official Ohio 2014***

I think the songs they are playing are pretty good, but in saying that i mean "good for a show or every other" once in a while. The problem with me is they are playing the same scoop every show or three. I mean they are mixing it up a bit, but with the same song rotation....come on guys. Endless talent and playing the same things in different order. I know, I know, "stop being picky, they will one day be done". I realize this certainty, but when you play about 15 different songs in the first 7 for 20 shows.....I have been to 98 shows now and watched for 19 years, and I must say that the reach is getting weak and the want to REALLY change things up is at an all time low. Maybe it is because of Boyd not feeling well or whatever, but there are still a bunch of things they can do in replacement....I love the shows and for the most part, love the songs, but the repetitive part of this tour is getting tiring and predicting.

I saw two rigs - one about 10 rows in front of the sound board and another one directly behind it

Great show! It wasn't the rarest of sets, but Snow Outside, Say Goodbye, SMTS>Bridge>Halloween was excellent. The encore was just OK, but overall a very solid show.

Also, the crowd around me was great. One of the only shows in recent memory where I had no assholes causing problems anywhere nearby.

Also, one very cool thing I saw was up to the right of the PIT right in front of the speakers, there was a group of deaf people, and had a leader doing sign language to all the songs. Never seen that, but thought it was pretty cool!

It's come to the point where people have to go out of their way to defend a band that is completely mailing in a tour.

had a great time. got in the pit a little after 7 and got a great spot about 3 rows from the back towards the middle. left during the set brake when we got back about 10 minutes before the band came on there was a ton of room and ended up 3 rows from the rail right in front of boyd. loved some of the songs especially say goodbye and smts, bridge, Halloween run. can't believe the didn't play another song after Halloween or in the encore and ended 20 minutes early but I still had a great time. I loved the acoustic set and would love to see it stick around and especially at an indoor venue possibly

Yep, me too. They ended "Oh" and Dave headed back to Carter's riser, as is normal, turned around and said, looking to the crowd, "You are like a butterfly" and that was it. I must be getting better at this stuff cuz I joked with the wife that that would probably be considered a tease on the almanac

Of the 32 shows I've seen, this was def in the bottom half. But I still had an awesome time! My first Say Bye! I thought the crowd was pretty lazy first set. Picked up a bit second set...but in the end it is Riverbend so I've come to expect a subpar crowd. Playtime was short. Setlist was below avg for the tour. But still well worth the $90!

This was show # 20 for me, and I loved every second of it. If you consider a show with Bartender, Two Step, Granny, # 41, Say Goodbye, Halloween, Sister AND Good Good Time subpar, I don't know what would be considered a "killer" setlist? I am not trying to start a freaking forum war on here, but it seems like every show is picked apart and examined to the point I don't know why some people would waste their money to see a "subpar" show every year. Just sit back and enjoy an amazing band play amazing music. I am listening to the recording now, after 20 shows, there is nothing "subpar" about this show in my opinion. Sure a surprise "Exodus" would have blown up the night, but you can't expect that every show. It'll come...

I enjoyed the show tremendously. It was my first show of the year. I enjoyed the acoustic set a lot. I loved the interaction between by the band when they were changing the set from Satellite to Ants.

About the 2nd or 3rd time I've been to a show though and So Damn Lucky plays and the band tries to get the crowd into Thank You but either the crowd is clueless or doesn't want to sing. I'm usually the drunk singing Thank You while everyone else just looks at me clueless.

Loved Say Goodbye again. First time I've gotten it since Cville in 2010. I got a couple of personal debuts for me with #27, Good Good Time, and Oh. Always a hope of mine to get something new. Loved the switch to Halloween over Too Much.

Only complaints I have is the show ended early (20 mins before 11) and Gravedigger. God I hate Gravedigger. Not a fan of Why I Am as the closer (like the song) but if they're gonna close with a Big Whiskey, I'll take Why I Am 100 times over Shake Me.

Looking forward to Charlotte in less than 2 weeks!!!

were you in 900 BB low-mid 20s seats by chance? I was singing as well, and I was only one of 2 in that general vacinity.

No I was up in the 200s... There were a few people I could see up in the pit that seemed to be trying. At one point, Rashawn toyed with playing it and looked at the rest of the band and gave the cut sign.

I'm not a big Thank You fan but if the band is going to play a 3-5 minute outtro with it then you might as well get into and sing along. Would've loved to see the crowd and the band get into it for once.... They've played Save Me at Riverbend the last two years and both years the crowd seemed to be clueless on to the Thank You outro to Save Me. Maybe I need to hear this at a different venue. I hit Riverbend because it and Charlotte are the two closest to me.

I clearly meant So Damn Lucky here.... Can't figure how to re-edit my own edit.. haha

If anyone is interested, Jeff Coffin & The Mu'tet, will be playing in Columbus on Friday, January 16. I saw them play one time and they did a meet and greet after the show. It was fun seeing Jeff do his own thing away from DMB.
