Re: Stupid things heard at a show 2017

I mean if it's a tradition or something at that venue, and I'd know to expect it, it's not the end of the world.

The few times it's happened at shows I was at though, it definitely annoyed me. And that's mostly for Allison's sake. It sucks when we have good seats where she, at 5'2", can see, and then people mob the lowers and all of a sudden she can't. I'm 6'2". I'll live.

This happened at London for DMB in 2015, I think he was a taper, there was a revolt (after he started a small scuffle) by people who'd waited for 10-12 hours and he got sent back to his actual seat. Too right!!

If I remember correctly (remembering sections) you were 101 N1? I know I was the opposite side as you and it was kind of a shit show. Like I said, lots of people lingering, dancing, stumbling. Didn't find a real issue in it as they didn't affect me too much, but still obnoxious.

If you have a reserved seat just hang there, no need to clog aisles and piss people off. Especially if you're going to block somebody's view who paid just as much as you and has the right to that seat

I'm thinking "Maybe this guy is just like a career first base coach and he thinks my awesome dancing and sing alonging is me rounding the bag after hitting a home run." A few minutes later... another slap, and harder. Now I'm getting pissed. Before I can formulate a measured, adult like response to him and/or the people he's with that will address the situation, mother fucker brings another man hand to my man cheeks.

I turn to the dude and yell "You slap my fuckin ass one more time and I'm throwing you over the row in front of us." It was loud enough that his friends heard it and grabbed him. They kept him in timeout for the rest of the show fortunately.
Hilarious! I had a similar thing happen back in the day of having a band. I was playing at a bar and this old drunk guy (probably in his 60s), was standing right in front of me during the first song, yelling "YEAH! YOU GO! YEAH BOY! DO IT! YEAH!', and he was slapping my ass throughout the whole song. It was so crazy. I didn't want to stop the song, and I couldn't really do anything because I had my hands full with my guitar and had to stay at the microphone to sing. After the song ended, the bass player told the guy to fuck off and he left me alone for the rest of the show.

At a bar after the show, 10 minutes getting a lecture about how huge of a fan this girl is and how she knows Daves bus driver and has for years(amazes me how some people get excited and brag about knowing the bus driver), I tell her I really want to see You Never Know Dave & Tim...I get the most puzzled look and she says "what the hell is You Never Know?". Confused I responded saying it was a song off Busted Stuff, she said "who the hell listens to Busted Stuff". It was at this point I gave up...

Maybe the biggest thing was just the way she was explaining how she knew Jerry, I mean sure you know daves bus driver, that's great but it was like her claim to fame which was kind of sad and it's not the first time I've listened to someone brag about knowing the bus driver

Some great songs on Busted Stuff. Raven, Captain, Grey Street, YNK, and Bartender.

The songs are great, but I don't like the production on Busted Stuff. Raven is really the only song that was improved on Busted Stuff, and that's mostly because it has coherent lyrics. BS Captain is hot garbage.

This. The production on Busted Stuff makes it hard to listen to. Give me most of the songs off the album any day... but the studio version of those songs? No thanks.

I've spok to Jerry before, nice guy...don't feel special for having had a conversation with daves bus driver...want so much listening to Busted stuff as it was I don't think she knew the songs off the album. I have a soft spot for you never know because it's by far my favorite some to play on guitar and love the lyrics, ho anyone can claim to be a huge DMB fan and not know it is beyond me

This happened in 2010 and 2012 at CMAC as well. In 2012, I actually had front row seats and it pissed me off so much. Seems it's standard procedure at CMAC to let the crowds go wherever after the set ends and allow a free-for-all encore. Unfortunate.

Right before Ants last night, Tim hit his drop D note...guy in front of me screams "Sledgehammer! It's Sledgehammer!"
    Guy next to me agrees....

I just smile and wonder how in the hell they would play that horn part on two acoustic guitars...

I'm probably the only person on here that prefers the BS version of Bartender over LWS version. I prefer the wailing over the drawn out outro. So yea, I still listen to Busted Stuff. What a homer.
