2017: Best Released Versions Poll - Away From The World

We've done this before, but I figured it was time for an update. Instead of doing a poll for every single song, I'm going to go by album, then category (cover/misc release/unreleased/etc).

I'm starting with AFTW. I created a Google Form so you can vote for your favorite version of each song.

This seemed to make it easier to vote, especially for songs that have multiple releases over 10 each. And we can knock out albums quicker this way.

Although I voted Dave and Tim Mercy, moving forward I think these should be restricted to full band versions of songs.

Do any versions of any songs besides Snow Outside really vary enough to even merit a thread about it?

Im asking honestly, I cant think of one version of anything that sticks out besides snow outside with Bela from Blossom 14.

To be fair, each album should be approached the same way so there is a standard. Sure, most of them sound pretty similar (BBN), but some may prefer one version over another.

There are definitely some variations. Dave & Tim versions, BBN with a Boyd solo at the end, Gaucho has had a couple different outros, guests on Mercy, Rooftop w/ or w/o the outro, If Only with keys, etc.

For an album that I generally liked (but haven't listened to in a while), looking at the tracklist there isn't much that I ever actively want to heard at a show.

Now that I think about it... Mercy from Columbus last year was actually really really good. Far and away the best version theyve played.
