its surprising that he of all people would want to come back. he never embraced Han, Star Wars, or the fans. he's also the only one who's become a real star, and usually the biggest star doesnt want a reunion

I wouldn't believe a single rumor until the film goes into production and the cast is actually set.

I always thought they should make a movie to bridge the 2 trilogies. Something to cover the early years of Vader/Palpatine's rule.

The space is definitely there. I'd be interested to see something like that happen. I feel that it will be challenging in general (no matter the time period) to do something totally original and canon that all of these games and novels and things haven't touched on.

    1. They've covered the years between 3 and 4 with video games, and are debating a live action tv series.

    2. They can't kill off Han unless it is more than 40 years after the original movies took place because he's still alive in the books up to those points. It would also drives fans crazy if they screwed up the canon they've been following for decades.

    3. My best hope is for them to do the Thrawn Trilogy (excellent storyline, still retains characters everybody knows and adds some great new ones). There have been talks of this possibly being it, considering they only want several years after the original trioogy. Link: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Thrawn_Trilogy

    4. If they wanted to retain the original cast, they would have to use probably the Yuuzhan Vong War era. TOns of action and drama. Honestly would be a lot of fun for everybody. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Yuuzhan_Vong_War

    5. Carrie Fisher looks like shit. Don't want her back.

    6. Be optimistic. Disney has a great track record. They've hired a great writer in Michael Arndt.

    7. Even if it sucks, hey, it's more Star Wars

    8. I looked like enough of a nerd already. /post

i think finding a good director will be difficult, because of the legend of star wars. I think guys like Abrams are up to the challenge, just not the stress. Abrams could prob make a great SW movie, but why put himself through that? No matter what, fans will be disappointed. Doesn't seem worth it to me. I'd never do it.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015)

I dunno... perhaps just being a Star Wars geek most of my life has led me to be a little skeptical about all these new movies, but I'm just having a hard time getting excited for some of these. I'd like to be excited, but I just have trouble believing they won't just turn SW into a money pit as time goes on. (which, yes, Lucas was already doing to a certain degree)

Boba Fett is super intriguing, but I kind of like him as the mysterious, supporting character. I don't know how I'd feel with him as a leading man. I worry they'd try to turn him into a hero, which he certainly isn't.

The Han Solo story would be cool. But again, I'm so invested in the already-created SW Expanded Universe that anything that doesn't follow the Han Solo stuff already produced in books would be a disappointment to me. Which is completely on me, I get that.

Believe me, if they nail these movies I will be the first person to sing Disney's praise, but still... I can't help but be skeptical.

With what movie studios have recently done to things like Star Trek and Batman, I'm not too worried. I'm sure these new ones will be different than the previous ones, but I think it will be refreshing. Lucas didn't exactly set the bar very high with the last 3 movies either.

To all the 'spin off' talks, I'll just say, as VERY loyal Star Wars fan...

I'm VERY excited about the new trilogy, but the idea of a Han Solo and/or Bobba Fett movies scares me. I love the mystery behind them, and would love to keep it that way.

Disney will ruin this faster and more spectacularly than Lucas ever could. The Abrams film will probably be solid, but the spin offs and other properties will water down the brand beyond saving. It's nothing more than a merchandising opportunity for them. I'm a big Disney fan, but spin offs and prequels are giant red flags.
