Wowzers, I just made a mess of my trousers!

Im excited for this one, not a ground breaking picture but should be fun. I'm also excited to see Charlie Day in something other than a comedy.

It kinda reminds me of Godzilla mixed with Transformers. I dig it.

I'll check it out, because I'll watch just about anything that Idris Elba is in. I didn't know Charlie Day was in it, that's awesome.

This will either be incredible for a runny, radioactive turd. I'm hoping for the former.

It seems incredibly unlikely that anything so directly controlled by Guillermo del Toro could be.

Based on early screening reviews, it's going to be a hit. Rian Johnson, director of Looper, had this to say about it:

"Go into Pacific Rim prepared to be transmogrified into a 12 year old. And then to pee your pants with joy. I love it so much."

Edit: I will just leave this here

    Great minds...

This movie really is the wet dream of anybody that ever liked Japanese inspired monsters and action (Godzilla, Power Rangers, numerous anime). There's no hiding that a lot (and I mean a lot) of inspiration for this movie came from Neon Genesis Evangelion. Even the different Jaeger desings were similar to the different Eva units.

It's a real shame that this movie hasn't taken off in the box office like it should have. Hopefully they'll make enough money that justifies making a sequel cause I will be the first one in line to see another one of these. Makes Transformers look like fucking clown shoes (not that it didn't already).

They're less than $12MM away from breaking even and the film has only been out for a little over a week, and that doesn't include Bluray sales (which studios obviously care about as much as box office these days).

That being said, they already hired a writer for a sequel, and del Toro is discussing the premise, so I think it's probably happening.

It was awesome, it was like a more grown up Power Rangers (the fighting scenes of robot vs monster). The dialogue, yeah, that was rough.

I tried to give this movie a chance sometime last spring and gave up after about half hour. I rarely ever turn off a movie, but this was just so bad. The acting was awful and the dialogue was atrocious. I wanted to like it because it's rare to see an original movie that isn't based on something these days, but it was just so bad.
