We came over in the 1600's from England to Virginia and migrated from Va to NC to FL and finally into GA. Had an ancestor who was married to Sir Fancis Drake's cousin and that's about as close to anyone famous we got on my dad's dad side. My dad's mom however is distantly related to John Hancock.
Had some relatives fight in the Civil War and the American Revolutionary War too I think. One of them was captured by Yankees in Mississippi and after the war he was released and had to walk from the Delta all the way back to north Florida
