I never wanted to be one of the people that solicited random people on the internet for a donation, but here I am.
This past Spring my family was shocked to hear that my Aunt Mych, who is only 52 and in great health, was diagnosed with an acute form of Leukemia. In April she was given by doctors only a 20% of making it to Christmas this year. Against the odds, she responded incredibly well to both rounds of chemo and was able to find a blood marrow match for the transplant she will be receiving in several weeks. We are remaining highly optomistic.
Myself and other members of my family will be biking 100 miles from Columbus to Gambier, OH in August as a part of Pelotonia. It is an incredible and highly therapeutic event for all but especially for those who have been impacted by this disease. I have participated in the ride once before and have volunteered for the event and charity every year, it is truly one of the best around with 100% of the money donated going directly to hospitals and research foundations. In the 5 years since its inception they have raised over 63million dollars.
As many of the doctors reminded us when we first learned of the diagnosis, it is amazing the advances that have been made in treatments of this disease. Even just 10-20 years ago it was much less likely that my aunt would be in the condition she is and the idea of sending her into full remission would be completely out of the question. It is our support that continues driving this fight.
I included the link to donate to my ride below, anything is greatly appreciated. Think of this as a donation not to me, or my aunt, or Pelotonia, but directly to cancer research. When you follow this link, you will find my personal Rider profile and a simple and secure way to make any size donation you wish:

Thank you so much for your support!
