well technically both had band members die.

and Q-Tip's solo efforts Amplified and Renaissance are both very good, IMO, with excellent staying power. i'd say the same of Some Devil in fact, so solo wise i think they are about equal.

because let's be real... Dave Matthews IS dmb, and Q-Tip IS a tribe called quest.

I never knew Edwin McCain (the dude who did "I'll Be") guested with the band a couple times in '94. I was looking through '94 shows a few days ago wondering what could be released from that year as a DMBLive when I came across that.

Without going show to show I just looked up the Dave & Tim tours listed on dmbalmanac, looked for the longest/rarest shows of each tour and looked at how many songs were played.

    2.13.1996 had 33 songs

Also, apparently Dave recorded an acoustic version of one of his songs for a recent wedding:

    Quote:
Little did the two know, Allison’s father, an entertainment lawyer who had worked closely with the Dave Matthews band, had something else in mind. “He had planned for Dave to record an acoustic version of one of his songs for us. We both burst into tears when Dave’s voice came on and just started dancing. It was so special.“

It’s pretty exciting. We’re adding a major music element to it. I want each television show to have a major artist participating in every episode musically. So like the first episode we might have Skyler Grey [and] a new video that would come from it. A second episode, we might have Dave Matthews, Dave Matthews might have a song for it.

It's not as far fetched as you think. Cavallo is on the outs, from what I heard there is currently no one filling the void, and Rashawn and Mark have a very close relationship.

As far as working on a DMB album? It's pretty far fetched. Unless something drastically changed recently, then I will stick with what I said.

I could be wrong and things could've changed as far as any album work is concerned.

Listening to LT 40 (great release) and Tim really ruins Space Between. The distorted guitar just sticks out on what would be a very beautiful track.

I think that's the whole problem in a nutshell, nothing has really drastically changed. But at this point I would say an album with Cavallo is more unlikely than one with Batson.

Can't take a decade off from a producer and expect to just pick up where you left off. The vibe I get is that the band doesn't really think studio albums are necessary at this point.

I've currently have yet to see an Australian Stand Up album promo being sold on eBay, is it really that hard to come by despite it being Stand Up? I could use it having the only officially released lossless full length Hello Again.

WWYS certainly doesn't rank among my favorite DMB tracks, but I've always LOVED the jam section. Makes the song for me. I wish they would elongate it and flesh it out a little more live.

I absolutely loathe Smooth Rider full band/album, but D&T versions get me feeling right.

Also, I feel the same way about Can't Stop. Basically, the D&T 2007 Europe disk is great.

Who the hell is Lee Grove (the guy who played extra percussion on Dreamgirl on the studio cut)? I've googled him (her?) and didn't find a thing.

DDTW on LT36 is freaking terrible with Tim. He ruins the song with his stupid riffs in the background

After reading all the commentary about the crowd at D&T 1.25.17, I decided to listen to the show and a few things caught my attention:

After Gravedigger, some dude keeps screaming "tell a story!" and eventually Dave replies, "My story is over." Then he laughs saying "no, it's just beginning" laughing like he knows something we don't, followed by ominous Tim effects.

After Warehouse, Dave is telling a story and at one point stops to say, "it'll get done faster if you don't shout over me" and immediately some chicks screams back, "but we love you!" GTFO

Crowd ignorance aside, 2017 Dave & Tim sound tight and I look forward to catching a show.

Bismarck officially has its legs. Thought it was really strong off the bat in Cville, then kind of a complacent tune through the summer..But I love what D&T are doing with it. Tim, in particular down the stretch, is rounding off the song perfectly

To me Dave and tim crowds have always been like that. I listened to some 99 shows recently and they were pretty bad back then maybe even worse then now.
