It's a matter of taste, of course. I think, for me at least, when I feel like that, it's due to D&T "stripping down" a version of a song, and playing it in a manner where the song itself shines. I like Fool To Think in any setting, but the D&T versions are fantastic, and for someone who doesn't like Fool To Think full band, might enjoy it D&T. Or, the opposite, where a song benefits from the full band setting and doesn't translate well to an acoustic approach. I think there a fewer examples of the latter, but 2 songs that I can sort of say that (better full band then D&T) about are, Squirm and Don't Drink The Water. Just my .02.
