Re: Favorite beer of choice?

hey guys this certainly isn't the greatest beer I've ever had but there was a special on Newcastle Founder's Ale ($10 for a case) and it's surprisingly good. Nothing spectacular but it falls right in the zone where it's extremely drinkable and nothing about it would offend anyone. Just enough bitterness to keep you interested, nice color, pleasant mouthfeel. I'll have to get back to you on the aftertaste. can't quite place it but I'd say it's worth a purchase sometime. Nothing spectacular but definitely worth trying, especially if you want something lighter than a stout/porter but without the hops of a pale ale that can please everyone and is light on the wallet

took me nearly 2 hours but the Stone Espresso IRS is history. phenomenal beer. glad i took my time because I'm not drunk and that beer got even more amazing as it aged. would probably shank someone for a bourbon barrel aged version of this....

Festivities sound awesome, hope you remember some.

I dug the EIRS but didn't let it warm up enough, I believe my local place still has some so I may go back for another.

I found my main fridge full of stout today while looking for a PA or an IPA, I should probably get busy.

Sounds like Parabola dropped here tonight, going to try and sneak out of work for a bit tomorrow and round up a few bottles.

i am almost all Stouts/porters in my fridge right now. not a bad thing as those seem to handle age the best so there is no rush to get to them....but i need to start drinking what i have instead of buying new stuff, so I will be drinking a lot of stouts for a while....

So AC Golden Brewing (Coors) doesn't make amazing beers but they just sent me 4 Cascade hop rhizomes for free. I am supposed to grow as many hops as I can and then take them to the brewery and they use them to make Colorado Native. Pretty cool I think.

It's a free promotion they do. All you have to do is sign up on Facebook and they send you rhizomes. I tried last year but apparently they ran out. They use all Colorado grown ingredients for Colorado Native so a couple years ago they started having people help grow part of the hops they use. When I drop them off they will give me a code on which batch of Native I "helped brew" so if I want to go buy some I can.

The wife and I were just discussing buying some hop plants to start this year and the rhizomes showed up, good timing.

Not a Coors fan at all, but that is pretty damn cool!

    Best of luck with this...

This was my philosophy starting 2013, but somehow things continue to grow in my celler.

I'd be curious where you draw the lines.

    There she is.

Double citra was great. Fear and trembling was very good as well. But I'm not a smoked beer person. It was def better than smoking wood. Parabola was great as usual. And that was my buddies bottle. So I still have mine. Win.

All these beers need to be consumed fresh. We need a tasting before alpine
