Re: Official Phish Discussion

I think that 3rd set was my favorite set of the weekend. Probably because I was such a high after set II.

Seriously. I loved the second set, but set III was even better IMO. PYITE opener had so much energy during the HEY!'s. Golden Age got awesomely funky, and then the Tweezer -> Heavy Things segue was like butter. Another solid composition piece in Guyute, which was also appropriately Halloween-y.

But the crowning moment of the whole weekend for me came in the Sand -> Tweeprise. SO MUCH FUCKING ENERGY.

So with all that, you get a set that reads:

PYITE > Golden Age > Tweezer -> Heavy Things, Guyute, Sand -> Tweezer Reprise

I feel like Phish followed up that game-chanigng second set with one of the most perfect set's of classic Phish music that they could have delivered. I mean, it truly had something for everyone. High-energy compositions in PYITE and Guyute, a funky ass cover in Golden Age, and two smooth-as-it-gets segues taboot!

    Thank you Phish!!!!

I'm probably going to move on flights in the next couple days.

Also, that 11.11.98 Ghost is phenomenal.

Just watched Halloween set 2 for the first time. Wow! Very cool, loved the stage setup and the music got better as the set progressed. Would love to see some of those songs come back down the road

Albany Seven Below (and Ghost, for that matter) holds up on tape 5 years later.

    Wow.

Not sure why I wasn't giving this jam the love it clearly deserves.

I was listening to that Sand > Tweezer Reprise in my car with my awesome speakers and Mike's first bass bomb was ridiculous. I'm hating that I can't go down to Miami for the NYE run. I'm hoping for NE Phish Festival next year. Superball was in 2011, I think it's due time for one.

Relistened to that tonight driving around. Man that always takes me back! I loved those 2 Albany shows so much. When I heard they had a camera crew following them around that 09-10 era I was hoping so bad that run would get some love. I've debated this at length with people but I felt night 1 was a better show & would've loved to see a night one DVD with highlights from night 2 seven below into ghost along with julius &/or Yem. Nonetheless great stuff!

Man I can't wait for Miami! It's been a while since I've been on here but my wife got me tickets to Saturday nights show for my birthday a few weeks back. I love her soo much! Sitting rage side page side. So where's everyone at for Saturdays show? Who's staying where? We live in west palm but we're still probably gonna get a room at one of the Marriotts down there. Anyways it's been so long I'm so f'n psyched for this show! Hope to see some of you there.

I know its been said way too many times, but 95 Phish is one of the greatest bands ever..and in 95, Trey is one of the best ever. They just destroyed every place they went.

Yeah, dude. Wasn't there but watched it on youtube-- that's how you end a show. Usually doesn't go down like that (jam of show->tweeprise)-- functioning on a higher plane right there

NYE 93 is some great tension-release, maybe 10-12 minutes.
