Born, raised and live in Buffalo so here's what you need to know:
1. Buffalo Wings were invented at the Anchor Bar. Anchor Bar definitely has good wings but I've always been underwhelmed when I eat there and so are most Buffalonians I talk to. It's a tourist spot - definitely better places besides AB.
2. The
general Buffalo consensus is that Duff's Original location (on the corner of Sheridan and Millersport) has the best wings. A few years back Obama visited Buffalo but went to the Duff's on Dick Road (
) which is good but not as good as the original.
3. While Duff's is the
general consensus for great wings, many Buffalonians have their
personal preference. Mine is Gabriel's Gate on Allen Street. Others I've heard are JP Bullfeathers and Pearl Street.
Gabriel's Gate and Duff's are far and away the best wings I've ever had.
Edit: Dammit I'm hungry now

I guess I'm a purist.
