He really is. We've had him for about a year and a half. We adopted him from a local shelter and he's turned out to be the sweetest cat. He has a new found affinity for drinking out of the toilet which we're trying to break though.

He'll come and jump on you when you're laying on the couch and his front paws will be wet. I'm like, "Drinking from the toilet?". He just has a silly grin on his face.

But yeah, he's pretty fucking adorable.

Man, I wish we had places like this to shoot here in Dallas. It's just so brown and blah right now.

My suggestion would be to work on your compositions. I don't want to come off as rude when I say this but it looks as though you just walked around and held up your camera for a few seconds at whatever held your attention. As a viewer, I'm not really sure what I should be looking at or what the subject is.

The three that really jump out at me are the fence (gate?), the tree trunks, and the log across the creek. I think those could make some good images. I would probably work each of those locations for like 30 minutes. Just really exhaust all possibilites until you find something that works.

For example, it looks like the sun is setting in the one title "First Photo Trip". Use the shadows and texture of the snow. Don't be afraid to get really, really close and show some detail. And shoot portrait orientation! It'll make those shadows seem reeeally long and lead your eyes into the image or to your subject.

In the creek image, it looks like there is a bridge in the distance. There's a possible point of interest. I also notice tracks (animal) on the right hand side that splits two trees. Get right up to those trees and show the detail of the wandering tracks anchored by the trunks on the left and right. There also looks to be cool close ups of ice on the shore.

Anyways, you see what I mean. You have endless possibilities with locations like this.

Just my $.02. Keep it up!

That bridge man. Use that bridge. Set your camera on it. Make it the focal point. Set a tripod next the limb that looks like an arm. Place the limb on the left and shoot the bridge from that vantage point. Shoot the texture of the bricks. This may sound funny but make that bridge your best friend.

It looks like a cool scene.

He's still a kitten. All three of my cats had trouble pooping. One of my cats liked to sleep in the litter box when it was clean, the other used to leave in mid poop. Gross.

Still need to scan those b&w's, but anyway my friend's band had a show the other night and he had told me they needed pics of the band to apply for this local festival, and then for other uses in general like their myspace. So I told him I'd take some amateur shots at the show. These were all just real low lighting ones taken with my basic digital, nothing special, but I managed to find some good angles, etc..

So I told him I'd take some amateur shots at the show. These were all just real low lighting ones taken with my basic digital, nothing special, but I managed to find some good angles, etc..

I like those. I think the grainy look actually complements the pictures, rather than detracts from them.

I'm using a Canon 40D with the Canon 24-105 mm L lens. Very happy with the outcome.

I want a 40D. I have a 3-year-old 20D and got the 17-85 EF-S lens with it, which worked fine until about two months ago. The aperture motor has started malfunctioning, resulting in the fun [ERR 99] code. Now I can't decide whether to just get a new one, or fix it and get a cheaper wide-angle, or save for an L series. I've discovered that this aperture problem is not that uncommon with this particular lens, so I'm hesitant to get a new one...

I also have a 50 MM 1.8 and a 70-200 2.8L (not IS). The 70-200 is what I took these shots of the Flecktones with just over a year ago:
