So we have 9 new songs now. In order of my favorite to least favorite:

Bob Law
Bismarck
Samurai Cop
Death on the High Seas
Virginia in the Rain
Black and Bluebird
Plastic Girl
Be Yourself

+ then there's Here On Out (unreleased/unplayed so far). And who knows what else.

The top 3 (Bob Law, Bismarck, Samurai Cop) are all A+ to me and in their own league. Great songs, I love them all. Death and Virginia are solid. Black and Bluebird is ehhhh - I can handle it but it isn't good to me. Plastic Girl and Be Yourself are garbage.

DMB hasn't played Virginia in the Rain but once this year so I hope they don't abandon it or even abandon Black and Bluebird, which could easily be replaced by an even worse song, so I'd rather just take my chances with keeping it.

I listened to the first part of the song, and didnt think it was so bad other than the use of the "Plastic girl...plastic world" line, until I heard the bridge, or whatever the hell that was.

It just hit me what this song sounds like... for a while people gave Phillip Phillips crap saying he was trying to be Dave. Well, to me, Plastic Girl sounds like Dave is trying to be Phillip Phillips. Maybe there's a carbon monoxide leak in my house, but that's what I got from it. Maybe if they would bring back the scat outro in Jimi Thing and get rid of Sexy MF, Dave would get the scatting out of his system and you wouldn't get stuff like the bridge of this song.
