Opening Act Introductions

I'm sure this has been discussed before, and I could probably do a search, but I figured I would pose the question anyways...

I was thinking about it the other day, and having been to many different concerts in my lifetime, I'm not certain I can think of many headliners who take the time to introduce their opening acts like Dave does. What artists have you seen who do what Dave does at each and every show?

Do the lack of responses mean no one else does it, or is it the more likely answer that nobody feels like responding???

Ive never seen it done, so by my experience its pretty rare, but I havnt been to too many concerts outside of DMB and Mumford.

I've been to a lot of other "rock" concerts (U2, Foo Fighters, etc.) and can't remember ever seeing it...

I've never seen it done by another band/artist. I attend lots of shows with a wide range of styles. Sometimes there will be an MC type doing intros but not the main act.

I really like that Dave does this. Super classy and I think helps make sure that there are some butts in the seats for the openers, even if they are only there to hear Dave say something. I like the GA pit for the same reason. My "home" venue, Shoreline, doesnt do GA and there were maybe a couple dozen people in seats for Allen Stone last year. Gotta be tough as an opener to have the closest people be a football field away.

I've been to loads of concerts and I've never seen anyone else do the intros. It's awesome.

I went to Zac Brown a few weeks back, thinking he would, and he did not.

Thanks everyone, this is what I thought. I want to say that Ingrid Michaelson has done it the 3 or 4 times I've seen her, but for whatever reason, I can't remember for sure...

I've been to around 500 concerts and never really seen it done other than Dave. A lot of times I am not there yet at the start of the opener though.

Warren Haynes of Gov't Mule, Ben Ellman of Galactic have both done it. G. Love too.

Fwiw Dave doesn't do it at every show either, typically second night ones

I'm not sure about this. Been to 39 shows and he's announced every one I've been at. Including all STL one night shows each year.

Been going to shows since 94 and have seen no intro a handful of times
Verrrry Rare but it happens

Also the only others I have seen announce bands was at farm aid so it is different in many aspects
