Indy 500

For the first time ever, the Indy 500 has officially sold out to the tune of 350,000 people marking it the single biggest day sporting event in the world and biggest production that ABC/ESPN puts on which happens to be bigger then the Super Bowl as far as production and number of camera's used.

lol it was insane getting to the track last year at 6am when gates were opened at that hour.

I can't wait, its gonna be the wildest day and my excitement level is through the roof.

We are leaving Plainfield at 6:00...why do I feel that is too late?

We called the guy's house we parked at last year to save a spot. He said he "should" be able to accommodate us at 6:30 when we get there. He took my car information down, but I am still nervous. I really do not want to be searching for a parking spot on Sunday morning.

Oh man, y'all are crazy coming in from that side of town! Coming from the south side, I plan to head through downtown and Coke in from the east side. Hopefully it won't be as heavy that way.

We left Brownsburg at 6:15 last year and were parked and drinking a beer by 7:00. Hoping for the same luck. I am thinking if you arrive after 8:00 it will be a shit show up until the race. My biggest fear is the cooler check lines. Those will be insane regardless of time

All that worry about traffic, no issues at all. I live about 45 minutes south of Speedway, took me just a little over an hour this morning to drive up, almost no wait to get inside. Great day, still can't believe a rookie won.

No issues here either. Plainfield to Speedway in the normal 20 minutes. Zero wait to get in only about 45 minutes to get home. Great day and just a fantastic race

The place was as full as I have ever seen it.

I had no traffic issues since i took an uber to the track saturday night lol. Started drinking at 630 am and partied in the infield till the race started and made it to where my family was on the front stretch. Awesome weekend and awesome 500. Just hope it keeps the momentum and can build off the awesome day.

The "Snake Pit" was a huge annoyance to me during the pre-race festivities. During the Pearl Harbor survivor memorial I couldn't hear a damn thing because some house music guy is screaming "let me see you fucking bounce" They eventually shut it down not too long after that for the rest of the pre-race. I get why they have the "Snake Pit" but they need take a break from 10 until race time.

Saw that earlier. He is lucky to be alive. Seems to have gotten lose when the back end of the car wobbled and he just over-corrected. Hope he recovers soon.

This should be an interested Indy 500 with F1 star Fernando Alonso participating. Indy has been gaining some ground recently with NASCAR's declining popularity. A big Indy 500 could go a long way to propelling them even further.

For me, I have been getting more into F1 recently, but the Indy 500 is always a must watch for me on Memorial Day weekend! Great tradition!

That is some sad news. I read about it a few days ago, but was hoping he would recover. One of those weird twists-of-fate that he died on a bicycle.

The week-end in Montreal is one of my fave week-ends of the year, have attended every Canadian GP since 2001. Sitting front row at the exit of the hairpin, definitely the place to be. Hope you get to attend some day and experience it live.
