Chris Archer money quote: "And I think that the Cubs are going to be a surprise this offseason because there are guys, there are top-10 players, starting pitchers especially who want to go pitch there."

Obviously he knows Price, but he's not a free agent this off-season.

i'm looking at going to a game this week, but i've never been to chicago. where is a good place to park, and how much does parking cost? and how bad is traffic leaving the game? trying to figure out if it would be better to stay in a hotel near wrigley and walk or just pay for parking and stay outside the city a bit. i'm driving from PA to denver and stopping in chicago for a night, so i'm looking for the cheaper alternative. driving for a while after the game isn't an issue.

Parking by Wrigley is terrible. I would use their shuttle services where you park about 15 minutes away from the stadium and take a bus. That is what I did last time and it worked much better.

Bryant left the game early tonight with an injury. Speculation is that it was precautionary, so hopefully it is nothing too concerning.

Park further and take a shuttle, or take the red line.

i'm looking at staying at the days inn in schaumburg/elk grove, and the brown line at kimball and kedzie seem to be the closest stops with parking. is that a decent place to park? also, would it be safe to walk to the southport station from wrigley at night or would it be better to just take the redline from addison down to belmont and transfer to the brown line?

I stayed at the days inn on diversey back in April. It's only about a mile or so walk to wrigley, plus some good bars and food in the area too. Parking garage close by costs $25/day. Hotel rates were about $140/night weekend IIRC. Cubs weren't in town so I missed out.

If that's the Days Inn on Higgins, the water there has a weird metal smell.

@Buster_ESPN: Two folks involved in the Rusney Castillo bidding view the Cubs as the most likely team to land him. Just their educated guesses.

@sahadevsharma: Certainly doesn't jive with what I've heard. I'll stick with what I know, but that Buster tweet is certainly a fun twist...

    Two big IF's but...

    1) If the Cubs get him

    2) He's what people expect

2015 is going to be real interesting if they get a guy like Lester to pair with Arrieta. I think if they get him plus a SP target we may see them deal prospects for pitching.

i would love to stay by the stadium right in chicago, but i'm trying to not break the bank. i'm moving to denver and i'm making chicago one of my stops. i'm staying farther away but i'm also paying less than half of what those closer hotels cost.

    Re: Chicago Cubs

Just a silly day for so many key guys. That Baez oppo HR was real nice. I'm sure he'll cut down on the Ks in the future. If I had to guess, he's more of a traditional aging curve guy (peaks 28-31 or whatever). Callup timing for Thoyer is looking perfect because he's experiencing success mixed with failure.

Also, it just blows my mind every time I watch Arrieta pitch. He has been so fantastic. I don't know, I feel like we'll give FA SP a good chance, but our big offseason decision could be extending Arrieta.
