Re: Fantasy Football 2014: Talk, Advice, & Start 'em, Sit 'em

My only keeper league is an auction, but selling keepers is a ton of fun before the draft and gives people who drafted or used their FAAB well the previous year an advantage. I'm a huge fan of it.

Draft tonight. Any rookies you guys are high on? Work & kids have me very unprepared this year.

Brandin Cooks and Kelvin Benjamin at wr. Both are flex option guys, or will be at some point this season.

    Devonta Freeman.

I think Jonathan Grimes is worth a late round flier... Arian Foster's backup.

Ended up in 2 leagues this year. First draft was last night.
12-teams, full point PPR, Auction draft with $200 allowance. Remaining settings are standard scoring; no bonuses either.
We start QB, WR, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, WR+RB+TE flex, K, DEF. 6 bench spots.

    Tony Romo

    Brandon Marshall
    Roddy White
    Torrey Smith
    Cordarrelle Patterson

    Shane Vereen
    CJ Spiller
    Trent Richardson
    Chris Johnson
    Steven Jackson
    Lamar Miller
    Christine Michael

    Greg Olsen
    Kyle Rudolph

    Adam Vinatieri

    Rams defense

    I hate my RBs.

I hate Spiller this year. Pretty obvious Bills coaching staff has no idea how to use him. Like Vereen in PPR though.

I think your best options will be waiver wire obviously or hoping one of your WRs or TEs blows up so you could trade for RB. Could see that with Patterson or Rudolph.

this article was written the end of June so his adp is off. He's actually dropped some over the past couple weeks. He's currently at 48 according to fffcalulator. Still not low enough for me.

First real draft last night - 10 team, .5 ppr, 6th pick. Not crazy with how the board fell (Bryant/Marshall were the last 2 picks before my 2nd rd pick) but we'll have to see. Going to hope for some health and breakouts. Nothing can get you prepped for the shenanigans that your friends might pull as far as drafting strategies, definitely have to adjust at times.

    QB: Ryan (9)
    RB: Forte (1), Murray (2), Gore (6), Sankey (8), Pierce (11), Bradshaw (15)
    WR: Nelson (3), Brown (4), Cruz (5), Patterson (7), Evans (12)
    TE: Bennett (10), Kelce (14)
    D: Patriots (13)

Yeah, kind of how I'm feeling. A mid/late round TE run (the second TE for some guys) didn't help as I lost out on Rudolph, Reed and Ertz. Just going to hope for some rebounds (Cruz) and breakouts (Patterson, Sankey).

I like Reed better than the others
But Bennett is just as good as Rudolph and Ertz IMO
And even if not as good, the difference isnt that big at all
Teams will have to worry about Marshall, Jeff and Forte...Bennett will get his
