TIP: Look under my name to the left, where it says location, notice state, think of teams that call that state home, start rooting for that team, find out what baseball is really like.

    Thank you very much.

Fair enough, but I definitely have seen some Cubs fans in that thread.

Truly I hope your team is at least somewhat more competitive this year. Last year was an awesome time to be a Cardinals fan, but its always fun to really see the Cubs and Cardinals fighting late in the season.

It will be interesting to see how Hairston, Burnitz, etc. fit in, just like it will be interesting to see how Eckstein, Grudz, and Mulder fit in in STL.

    Hoping for an exciting year!

Ok, fellow Cubbies....what would your starting nine look like on Opening Day

    mine would be:

    1. Hairston LF
    2. Patterson CF
    3. Garciaparra SS
    4. Ramirez 3B
    5. Lee 1B
    6. Burnitz RF
    7. Walker 2B
    8. Barrett C
    9. Zambrano P

picking between Dubois and Hairston wasn't easy. I am really excited about Dubois and hs potential. If Dubois started then Patterson would hit lead off. I think Corey is set for a huge year. .300 25 HR 95 RBI and 35 SB

I am really excited about what Jerry Hairston can bring to the team. I was happy to see Sosa go. He wore out his welcome and his skipping out was the last straw

yeah, the O's don't need anymore 'sluggers' (tejada, palmero, javy lopez), it's a shame to loose a good contact hitter like hairston, that leaves us with mora as ours..... anyway good luck cubs.....what are the odds on world series '05 cubs v. orioles....

Yeah it was Paul Wilson. Form tackled him and pounded his face. I wasn't happy with that trade at all....Roberto Novoa? Come on Andy McPhail

I guess that Astro fan got showed up by the Cards... And Cardinals are definitely America's team. They are the most popular among the entire country.... Yankees are loved in NY, and hated everywhere else.... Boston is probably 2nd most popular, because of bandwagoners.... My predictions for NL Central:
    Cards
    Cubs (Wild Card)
    Astros
    Cincinatti
    Milwaukee
    Pittsburgh

I am going to have to disagree with you there. I don't think there is an American team. There might be a team that is more popular across the country, and from what I have seen the Cubs are definitely one of them. Mainly because most of the games are on WGN, which is broadcasted all over the country. When you see the Cubs on the road there are always TONS of Cubs fans there. I don't really see that all that much with any other sport team.
