matter of fact, in high school, TPX tried to
persuade us to use the first Omaha bats before any other team in the nation (college or high school). They gave us all kinds of shit but the Omaha bats were out of the question, we wouldn't take them. we were #1 in the Nation (Baseball America and USA Today), and ESPN was doing a special on us that week following us around to classes, practice and games. TPX wanted the exposure i guess.
bottom line, we told them to get fucked. our Easton Reflex C-Core and Redline bats were broken in and honestly had a lot more pop. sponsorships and back door deals be damned. no one was going to tell us what to take to the batters box.
edit: this was obviously before the BBCOR rules. today, i guess it's not much of an issue... a bat is a bat, is a bat. but i'd still decline just for superstition sake.
