The Dictator - Sacha Baron Cohen

I've been a fan of Sacha Baron Cohen since the Ali G Show. Borat was great and Bruno was great. I expect this to be just as hilarious. Can't wait.

Looking forward to this one. I did not like the Ali G Show but Borat and Bruno converted me to an SBC fan, hoping this is just as good.

I agree, but so has Will Ferrell's and yet I still watch everything he's ever been in.

In the OP you said you think it's going to be hilarious and here you agree that it looks turrible?

No I agree that his schtick is a little worn out as is Ferrell's. I think the movie looks hilarious.

Another casual reminder from the tribe about how we should view arabs

Fun fact, the same guy who was behind Ron Paul's interview with Bruno(where he called him queer) was behind Bob Barr's interview in Borat. Jesse Benton, Paul's current fuck up of a campaign manager.

    SUC'd

Edit: I do find Cohen funny as hell though

This looks bad b/c it's an actual scripted film unlike Borat, Bruno, and Ali G which are just characters he uses with people in real life. SBC has not been good in feature films. I don't see how you can look at Borat and Bruno and say this will be good b/c of that, this is completely different.

What are you talking about? He was okay in Talladega Nights, but was great in Sweeney Todd and I've heard he was excellent in Hugo as well. After that he hasn't been in any live action scripted films that I know of.

I found Borat hilarious beyond words, but thought Bruno was pretty lame. Really looking forward to this one though.

I haven't seen Sweeney Todd or Hugo so I'll give you those, but his performances in other feature films haven't been anywhere near as memorable as the 2 live action films and his Ali G bits.

Haha I give up...I was thinking he was in more, but Talladega Nights was mainly what I was thinking of. Point being, his live action characters are a lot funnier than his feature film characters.

And I don't think there's much correlation between Borat being funny and the Dictator being funny. They're completely different things. The jokes in this movie look like they're gonna be old so fast. I would love to be wrong though.
