blossom def. not an option...we have our first kid coming in May.
we'll have to wait and see how it all goes before we can commit to diving to Pittsburgh and hoping one set of grandparents can watch the newborn for a day or so.

might be a lot to ask. would be way easier if there was a Hershey show since it's only 30 min away from where we live...and near both sets of grandparents.

You're definitely going to have a blast! Tailgating is probably as lax as it could be as long as you're not acting like a bafoon you can do whatever. Starlake is a great little venue. Always get a fantastic set too.

Highly suggest heading to Blossom the night before too if that's possible. It's great there as well. Kind of night and day with Starlake. Relaxed "woodsy" feel and the pavillion is incredible. I always love being at both and last year with them back to back was great.

I'm okay with a one nighter knowing that Blossom and Starlake are back to back again!

I'd love to add Blossom but it's just too far from Central VA and the wife is out of time off. That's why Starlake is so awesome being a Saturday. Gonna be a hell of a drive (we're considering driving all the way back to Cville after the show), but it's worth it. Only live once, as the kids say these days

we stay across the street at the Spring Hill. A friend stayed there in 2012 and it was fine. Place seemed pretty busy and there were other DMB folks there, same at the SH. Lots of stuff nearby, BWW, Quaker Steak and Lube etc. Very easy to get to the venue, but make yourself familiar with the area, it can be a little bit of a maze in that hotel/restaurant/mall area.

Hey everyone! I am making the trip to Starlake this year from Indiana. With this in mind, I don't really know the area too well. I saw a couple posts talking about hotels, but what are some hotels that are close to the venue? Are there any? Also, are there any good restaurants/bars close by? Thanks for all the help in advance

Awesome. Good to know. Tried to get Spring Hill but sold out this morning. Got the Microtel for $120 a night with free cancellation. Can't complain.
