Re: ryan adams.

Thanks for the heads up! I don't have Gold on vinyl so I might have to order that one. I guess I'm a little suprised that there is a 're-issue' in store for the rest of the lot seeing that most vinly stores still have them in stock.

In terms of finding them...Gold and Demolition are the ones I think people will pine over, Cold Roses is a distant second and JCN/29 are common. I'd hate to be the guy who just spent $200 on a sealed copy of Gold on eBay.

Oh, and I LOVE the embossed metalic blue rose design on the cover of Cold Roses. Classic.

I love the texture on the cover of Cold Roses too, it's very cool.

They also have listed in there Heartbreaker on vinyl. Looks like I may have just found my fathers day present!

    you must be joking.

Anyway. I just heard the new album. It's absolutely phenomenal. I think my favorite is "The Sun Also Sets"...it's just charged with Ryan energy. The whole album is really gorgeous. A little bit of everything: jam band grateful dead loving ryan, country ryan, solo acoustic singer songwriter ryan, rocking ryan. Really couldn't have asked for more from this release. It won't be my favorite of his, but it's definitely in the mix.

So nice to have new Ryan material to digest.

Thumbs up all over the place.

Nothing can top Heartbreaker but this album may rival it.

I'm still a virgin to this album for the most part. Two is absolutely amazing. Other than that I've only downloaded the Kinston 2007 show from the archive.org and gave it a few listens. Live the songs are great so I'm ready for the "official" release.

I've also succumbed to the multiple pre-orders for an autographed 7", a DVD, a poster, etc. I think I have 8 copies of the album coming to my residence on the day of relese. 3 copies on cd and 5 on vinyl. A lot yes but I hand the cd's out to friends and keep the vinyls just cause they're "cool". AND I also pre-ordered the re-issue of the 5 albums on 180g vinyl even though I have 2 original copies of each already. I'm going to make wall collage with all the albums framed to go along with the signed guitar. Altar??

    God what am I saying.....

Scratch that. Framed albums with my other collectible vinyls. Signed guitar stays locked up. Loser. I mean. Fuck. What...I. I don't know.

    //snaps back to reality//

Oh, and in honor of this release, if anyone wants unreleased material, Bed Heads, or live shows, leave your email addy. I'll send them to you. I'll limit it to the first 5 responses and send 5 cd's to each person mixed with good stuff (48 states only). No strings attached. I've done this before and am ready to do it again!

I backread and purchased every vinyl they had for sale except cold roses (already had it)...so thanks to whoever brought it to everyone's attention. I've been keeping my eyes peeled for a Love Is Hell, but can't ever find it. Might just import one. I wanted to frame a bunch of my vinyls as well. For my apartment next semester I wanted a top 10 albums framed circling the room. I'd probably have to put at least 2 or 3 ryan albums up.

I'd definitely compare Easy Tiger to Heartbreaker a bit. The singer-songwriter fused tunes are very reminiscent of that material. I'd also compare it to demolition a bit in the way it has a little of everything, but as a record it feels a lot more whole.

God I cannot wait for this album to come out. Luckily it comes out the day after I start doing an hour commute to work and back. I should know every word of the album in about a week.

    Sweet.

anyone know if there is a place where you can get a poster of the new album? or any posters for that matter. I need some more decoration for my house, and a Ryan Adams poster is in order. The official store doesnt appear to sell any, so any sort of direction is appreciated.

Best place to check is eBay.

I had the rock N roll poster for a bit before it ripped.. it kinda sucked anyway. there really are no good ryan posters. i'm not a huge fan of the cover art on this album either.

somone...maybe allposters? is now selling a setup with the album cover art and the cd below it, both framed on white background. that's cooler than any poster i've seen. I've only seen it for gold though.

The only one I have is the Love is Hell B&W print. There are some cool concert posters on eBay though but yeah, the album posters are kind of lame.

also just heard ryan will be taking a break from his solo career after the release of this album. he'll be putting himself fully into the cardinals ...hopefully operating as a band called The Cardinals instead of Ryan Adams and the Cardinals, democratically writing material as a band.

He hopes to release a box set of all his unrealeased stuff this winter. (so everything CUTiger sent me last winter basically...maybe some more)

And he's been working on a metal band.

    Here's the video interview:

In honor of the new release, I offered to send out 5 mixed cd's of unreleased songs, live shows and the Bed Heads to 5 people free of charge who left their email address. It'll stand until all 5 slots are filled, whenever that may be.

    Thanks!

Also, when did Cold Roses offically go 'out of print' ? I was looking on ebay, and all the Cold Roses on vinyl copies are going for a lot of cash.

Check your email. I'm sending out select volumes from the Bedhead series, unreleased sessions, and a mix of live shows from 99-07. You can pick and chose what you want since there's a good variety.

Not really sure about Cold Roses. I don't know if they released a limited number or what, either. They'll usually hit $50-75 on eBay but those prices will come down once the re-issue hit's the shelves.

Only a week 'til Easy Tiger....

I am looking for a jammed out version of Goodnight Rose (like on that Rollins show). If anybody has that audio from a live show or even an audio rip from that show I'll trade for an oink invite, or something else. Thanks.

29 has some of my favorite of his tracks. I don't care how much hate there is for it.

Carolina Rain, Strawberry Wine, 29, and esp the Sadness are all money.

I never gave 29 a fair chance. After Cold Roses and JCN, it just didn't seem up to par. I agree, those songs you listed are pretty good. I'm going to give it a good spin tonight.

just won a vinyl copy of love is hell on ebay! i'm pumped. sure...i paid an arm and a leg for it, but it's just about my favorite album ever.

29 is a gorgeous record. nightbirds is stunning. I agree though, demolition can't compete with the others. it's got amazing tracks on it, but too disjointed for me.
