Again this afternoon they put up a fight that rivals trying to stab someone with a wet noodle. Why the hell can't this team hit outside of Mauer?

I guess the Twins really want the #1 draft pick next year for some reason.

Last team to start 0-9 was the 2003 Tigers, and they were historically bad (43-119).

The Twins and Braves both fell to 0-9, 2nd time in the modern era (since 1900) two teams started 0-9 through 1st 9 games.

Is Molitor the problem though? He's not exempt from responsibility by any means, but collectively, the players just can't get out of their own ways on the ball field.

I'm not necessarily saying he's the root of the problem, im just speaking to the mindset of the organization (or at least how it appears). Brad Ausmus of the Tigers has come out publicly and said hes on the hot seat, and Detroit has twice the record the Twins do.

You know, last year I would have said Jepsen, but after this year, I retract that statement.

So Id say Trevor May for Revere is the last "decent" trade.....and that was 2012

I'm not blaming Moliter at all. I just can't accept that he's the problem. One of the best players in history who certainly has the baseball knowledge and who seems from far off to have the temperament to be a good manager. I am reluctantly blaming Terry Ryan. His moves in recent times are just not working out.

    Re: Minnesota Twins

Just a random comparison with the Twins already sitting at 30 in the L column after only 40 games (which is crazy shitty), the 116-win season the Mariners put up in 2001 didn't see them hit 30 in the L column until game 106. It's incredible to see how long it can take a historically good team to lose that many, then to see how quickly a potentially historically bad team can hit that mark. At least the Braves are on the same pace, so the Twins aren't alone.

Any takers on the team hitting triple digits in the L column?

If they manage to end the month 25 games or more under .500, someone has to get fired, right? If ownership just plans to chug along with what's going on without making any changes, what's left of the fan base is going to wander off. Apathetic ownership = apathetic fans neglecting to support your ball club.

that's the thing - any other franchise in sports that answer would be yes. for most it would have already happened. but with the twins, it would be a surprise - a surprise! think about that!- if they made significant moves. jim pohlad has shown he's out of touch and reluctant to make changes as recently as a couple weeks ago in that strib interview he rightly got skewered for.

sano not playing out that fly ball off the wall yesterday was inexcusable. he should have been pulled.

Sano should have never been put out there in the first place. They jeopardized his long-term value and productivity by taking him away from the hot corner because they were married to Plouffe at that position. It will be one of many decisions that will come back to haunt when they try to figure out what went wrong with this lost season.

well, yeah, sano in rf is a discussion unto itself. but since he was out there, that wasn't a ball he should have given up on and makes me question his ethic. that's delmon young type play right there and this group certainly shouldn't have that type of play from any player, let alone sano.

Only in Twins territory would it take a DWI to oust somebody from their job, and not the gasoline soaked dumpster fire play on the field. Wow!

    Absolutely ridiculous.

Maybe our pitching will improve now, not that I thought Neil Allen was a huge problem, but somethings gotta give.....

On a side note, if I were NA, I probably would have been driven to the bottle too by now with how 2016 has gone.

Going to Camden this weekend then going up to Yankees stadium to catch the Sunday afternoon game.

Don't really care if we win or lose (I'd like a good game) just hope it doesn't rain. Should be fun.
