I was listening to noted Pittsburgh talk dude Stan Savran earlier, and he had Mike Greenberg on. Stan asked Mike point blank about ESPN (and Mike & Mike specifically) refusing to talk about hockey. Greenberg of course balked at the question, saying no one at ESPN orders them to not talk about hockey, he likes the game and even had hockey topics on his run sheet this morning (that conveniently he did not get to
). It's laughable.
Anyway, as to the topic at hand, I'd say most teams have their share of absolute shit fans that are black eyes to the fanbases. Sports fandom in general seems to attract those types of people. Clearly not all Isles fans are twats, as Salrx seems to be a stand-up gentleman. But come on, people, sporting events are supposed to be fun for everyone involved. There's no need for assault and vandalism. (And if it's true that some Isles fans abused a young disabled Caps fan in an Ovechkin jersey, that's just disgusting.)
