This is why I booked a last minute trip to The Woodlands. Plus, doing the first show and last shows of the tour would be an interesting perspective on how things started and how they ended up.

10,000 towns isn't a superb song, but I grew up in one of those towns and it's pretty spot on, so I really like it. Dust is tits.


I'll be seeing them again on July 4th at the Whitewater Amphitheater.


I'm glad they're Texas boys; I get to see them like twice a year.

What are some things to do in Houston? We are only there for a day. Land at 830 on show day. I know there are some bars and restaurants near the venue. Is there any must see things? Where's the usual meeting spot near the venue for drinks?

Coming from hobby to the woodlands you will just about pass the whole city, other than the Clear Lake area. There are tons of things to do...Houston is an awesome city with a very rich history! The Museum District is right on your way north and offers a lot of historical sights and things to do. Don't get caught in traffic though....a 35 mile drive could take 2 hours on any given day! Pm me if you need any advice on the city!

If your plan is to get to the show/venue early I'd probably go to your hotel first (driving through downtown), check in, and head up to Ruby's BBQ off of 45 (on the way to the Woodlands) for lunch (about 10 min north of where you are staying), and then go to the Woodlands area, and enjoy the lake, park and head to Baker Street where the ants meet up in. There is no traditional tailgating at the Woodlands.

If you have more time, museum district is nice, or perhaps going to Rice Village for some interesting restaurants and shopping. You should still go to Rudys though.
