I don't want to steal Dave's art, but I don't want to buy a Box Set on top of the iTunes pass for it. If I were a casual fan, and got the regular iTunes version for $9.99, then I should not expect it. But I'm not a casual fan. I want as much material as they'll give me (audio, video, art/lyrics), but I want it on my computer.

I have the super-deluxe set and the iTunes pass and I would love digital copies of the artwork.
But, I don't think you can call it a slight because you're paying 1/3 of the price. When I pre-ordered, I felt like I was paying $40 extra just for the 4 bonus songs, but once I saw the set, I feel like the money went into the lithographs, the brilliant photo book of the band throughout the years and the leroi tribute book. Its beautiful and very well put together. Whether or not you feel like the art is "future revenue", its still a product with a price tag.
That said, I can definitely see the possibility of an abbreviated edition. A .pdf of Dave's drawings for each song, the same as the CD inner booklet - maybe throw in a few pics (but you would think it would've accompanied the album on release).

We'll probably get the Funny the Way It Is video (where the Hell is that, by the way?), plus a couple of the new songs live in addition to long overdue classics like Ants, Jimi Thing and Stay. Maybe Where Are You Going. Fingers crossed.
