My brother is such a bitch. He lives in NYC, loves Talking Heads, and has avoided my every attempt to get him to buy a ticket to the show. These Carnegie tributes are legendary and he just doesn't get it.

Yeah, it won't happen. DB isn't hard up for money.

That's why I was glad to see the DB & SV shows, because they played Talking Heads songs. It's the closest you'll get to hear Heads music, because it won't happen with them all together.

I understand that Once in a Lifetime is about the excess and luxury of the 1980's but I don't wuite understand my favorite line of lyrics probably ever and I know that doesn't make any sense:

"Water dissolving...and water removing, There is water at the bottom of the ocean, Under the water, carry the water at the bottom of the ocean, Remove the water at the bottom of the ocean "

Does anyone think that it means that "water is everywhere" meaning "wealth is everywhere" and money "carries" us and water is euphemism for money? Maybe that people are so material that it makes us unaware of what life is really about?

my interpretation is that the singer is going/went through life on auto pilot and contemplates if anything he has is real.

I think the lyrics you mentioned are about how you can't stop time. No matter how successful you become, you will never be able to stop or buy more time.

Probably completely wrong and I am also not high.

I just happened to find out about it from someone tagging me on Facebook and he's playing in my state. There was very little news about it
