I'll see if I can convince her to not want to know, but by the same token, if she knows the doctor knows and she doesn't know, it's kind of the same thing.

It was a surprise to both of us. Initially I wanted to know, my wife was staunchly against it, and the doctor did offer to tell me only but that's not a surprise that I can realistically keep. In hindsight I'm very glad I didn't find out. A couple moments really made it worth it, and I think I've posted them in here before, but I will again anyway. The moment immediately after my daughter was born and the doctor told my wife it's a girl, her reaction and the way she looked at our child and said with tears in her eyes and voice, and said very compassionately "you're a girl?!?!". That's a moment I'll never forget. The other was busting through the door into the waiting room and saying to the people I love the most "it's a girl!" That's a very special memory to me.
The logistical aspect of not knowing wasn't as much of a hinderance as people sometimes think.
I actually called my daughter Peter while she was in the womb because I was convinced she was gonna be a boy.
Either way, whatever y'all end up doing, it will be amazing for you, and congratulations. Fatherhood rocks
