Just finished it. Holy shit...the last few episodes are like, wow. And the finale is just...wow.

watched the first episode. It's "OK" - but Jason Biggs is a pretty good actor. I will watch a few more at the very least. Didn't pull me in completely, but it wasn't bad.

I know most of yall aren't finished so no spoilers here, but god damn, so many great characters. Holy fuck. Dozens of em, regardless of how cartoony they might be. Standing ovation from me.

Tricia, Pennsatucky, and Watson are damn cute in real life. And mmm those two Latina chicks (the thin ones).

Unfortunately Morello is not that cute in real life, but I was in love with her this season.

Such great characters though. Crazy Eyes, Taystee, Yoga Jones, Nichols, Sophia, Sister, Pornstache, Red, Boo, Washington. I fell in love with the supporting cast so much that I was almost disappointed when they returned to the main arcs.

Was least excited about Sandow's character or Briggs' characters, and Piper's brother, but I didn't mind them.



So many great moments I don't even know where to begin. Everything just flowed so well, can't wait to watch it again. Those last 3-4 episodes though, man. Gripping.

Finished last night, I'd give season 1 a solid B (7/10). It started off strong but honestly the episodes started to lose their flair as the season went on. I think it picked back up in the last episode. Definitely a decent show and a fresh series, if you have time you should definitely give it a shot.

Just finished the Thanksgiving episode. I'll probably finish the season this weekend.

Taylor Schilling does a great job in the solitary scene. Seemed like there was one really take (might've been a cut in there) when she slayed it.

I read that Kohan said the first season only supposedly takes place over three months, so the possibility of future seasons isn't an issue.

I'm through episode ten and I think I hate this show. I laugh occasionally but I find that I fucking hate almost every single story line. I'll finish the season but I don't know if I will be back.

I binge-watched in about a week. Loved it! Love the backstories. I wonder what Red did. I'm not sure they will show a Yoga Jones flashback because she told the story of what she did. I really like Daya, and all the supporting cast, really.

I think we're led to assume that Red eventually got caught in her business with the gangsters.

My first impression was that it was for the body that got put in their freezer. She got caught and was willing to take the years for not snitching on the bigger fish.

What was never made clear to me was why Sophia (the transgender) went to jail. I didn't see anything she did that was remotely close to criminal in her backstory. Every other character who had a back story was either given a very specific reason for being where they were or at least strongly implied.

All in all, I thought the first season was excellent. I thought the pilot was great, then it tapered off for a couple episodes even though it was still good. But then it got better again, and I'm not sure where it really turned into something great. I will undoubtedly be coming back to watch the second season, and even though there are a couple highly touted 2013 shows that I have not watched yet, I think I would say that this has been the best new series of the year.
