Wow, that is awesome! I want Patterson to sign at my wedding.

Love that song too, one of my faves on this record.

Ya that video is amazing. The first time I saw it I couldn't believe. Really shows just how cool, down to earth, and a good person Patterson is.

Alex I want to hear how those shows were my man. Wish I was there with you for another show. After I get back from China we will have to take in a DBT show or two.

For sure man! I'm sure they'll come back to the area later in the year. Patterson said last night that he wanted to make sure they weren't wearing out their welcome in Chicago cuz they come so much and they want to come back again soon...lol.

The show last night was AMAZING. Probably the best I've ever seen from them. They came out guns blazing with 'Puttin' People on the Moon' and just blew the doors off all night. The setlist was just about perfect....several from the Go-Go Boots record without it being overwhelming (Rays Automatic Weapon, Cartoon Gold, Go Go Boots, Used to be a Cop, Everybody Needs Love, Dancing Ricky, Mercy Buckets) and then just a boatload of classics - Where the Devil Don't Stay, Carl Perkins Cadillac, Dead, Drunk & Naked, Guitar Man Upstairs, Feb 14, Women Without Whiskey, Zip City, Let there Be Rock, Buttholeville, Birthday Boy, Get Downtown, Marry Me, 3 Dimes Down, Shut Up and Get On the Plane, Play It All Night Long...I can't even remember everything.

    Night 2 coming up tonight!

Hope you enjoyed the shows bud! I've never done a double dip of the Truckers. Which show did you like the best? I think I like the setlist for N1 better myself, but that doesn't mean a damn thing as far as which show brought the rock more.

I'm so jealous of that 72 (This Highway's Mean). Still chasing that one! Anything off Southern Rock Opera is golden.

N1 was definitely the better show. One of the best I've ever seen...totally intense from start to finish. I knew when they came out of the gate with 'Puttin People on the Moon' that it was going to be pretty insane.

N2 was solid but didn't blow me away like N1. The songs were all good but just way too many really mellow tracks strung back-to-back-to-back in the first 2/3 so things never really got completely rocking. The run from 'Living Bubba' up through the end of the show was insane though, not a weak link in there. Kelly Hogan came out and sang on a couple tunes - I think she's the one that did the 'Cassie Gaines' parts on disc 2 of 'SRO'??

That Hangout lineup is incredible, I wish that was somewhere remotely close to me. Have a blast man!

I am not sure about the rest of you, but if I listen to Mercy Buckets it gets stuck in my head for a loooong time. I really do think it is just a beautiful song that only Patterson could write. Go-Go Boots has grown on me a lot and from what I have read on threedimesdown.com Isbell's album coming out in April is even better than Go-Go Boots. It is good to have these two great acts putting out music.

I'm pretty pumped for Isbell's album. Plan on going to see him at his home venue, the Shoals Theater, in April.

Finally got around to watching Secret to a Happy ending and WOW is all I have to say. They did an excellent job with this documentary. The whole thing was done very well, with lots of good little tidbits about the Truckers. I have to say Space City jumped into my top ten favorite songs and cracked my top five favorite Cooley songs probably after watching this.

If it wasn't for DMB becoming my favorite band at a very impressionable age DBT would by far be my favorite band.

DBT is definitely my favorite working band right now. I still love DMB and there's no one I like to see live better, but the consistency of DBT's records just astounds me. I wish I hadn't discovered them so late in the game so I could have caught some live shows around the SRO-Decoration Day-Dirty South era.

Anyone know where I can find some good quality DBT live shows? I have the Live From Austin, TX CD/DVD but IMO being a TV taping it doesn't really capture the intensity of a 'real' Truckers show. I'd freak if I could find N1 from the Vic last night somewhere...one of the best shows I've seen by anyone, ever. And I've seen a ton.

Checkout Southernshelter.com or threedimesdown.com the latter is DBT's equivalent to ants. It has a pretty good collection of shows or you can at least begin your search there. I would suggest downloading one of the shows from southernshelter that they played at the 40 Watt from the beginning of 2010.

archive.org has a TON of Truckers. Last night I was able to d/l every show I've been to other than the Vic N1 this year (shame cuz that was the best of them all...) Jason I snagged the Otto's show from last summer we went to - I can't wait just to hear Patterson's rant on the 2 dudes fighting down front!

Anyone looking for a killer show, head over to archive.org and download 4/9/2010 from the Vic in Chicago. This was my first DBT show and it was just blazing. Tape sounds fantastic as well - nice clarity on the guitar leads and organ work.

Oh man - how about adding Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit to the Chicago Caravan and having him come guest on a few with DBT?

    A guy can dream...

I saw him play an acoustic Decoration Day a few years back and it was glorious. That is by far one of my favorite DBT songs and possibly favorite rock songs of the 2000s. I would have loved for Isbell to be at the Caravan.

Saw Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit last night in his hometown, Florence, AL. They killed it. During Decoration Day, in the reprise or whatever you wanna call it at the end where the dueling guitars are killing it, they blew the soundboard out. I highly recommend catching them.

That's awesome! I didn't know he did his DBT stuff live. Really hope to catch him sometime.
