Re: West Wing

Wow, this is weird. Exactly how long ago did that debate about Evolution vs. Intelligent Design come out in the press - anyone remember? Because tonight's WW ep seems to be substantially about that. I'm trying to think of with the typical window between show production and broadcast, if they purposefully did it in the wake of what happened in reality, or if just coincidence.

What's kept ER fresh is the turnover of cast members and the new stories they bring with them.
If Alda wins I won't watch it, Josh is my favorite character. The main reason ER stayed around as long as it did even with all the turnover is because Carter, a very well liked character, was always there. And they can't have a Republican win, not enough watch a show as intelligent and engaging as WW.

It's too bad our real politicians can't be saying some of these lines in real life...

umm... Newsflash, but the ratings have ALREADY been going significantly down for a couple years now, pretty much since Aaron Sorkin left after season 4 (& frankly MANY fans feel the show's decreased in quality just as much -- with still a Democratic administration). What you said sounded rather ignorant, it was sort of like a political equivalent to a racist statement, I thought.

And btw, you don't exactly lend much merit to your apparent "sophistication" argument when you baudily end your post yelling "Go White Sox!!!"

The ratings weren't doing so hot there towards the end of Sorkin's run as well...the show really peaked the end of season 3

What a joke that statement is, deep down you know I am exactly right. I would stop watching the show if Alda was on and I guarantee I am a prime example of the current WW watchers.

Shoot me for being excited, first time in my life they have gone to the Series. Eat a dick!! (and if you want to talk merit with me, better have some damn good credentials and not be one of the typical college kids roaming these boards. And that's confidence, not arrogance)

Now I had to waste my time refuting an intern:

The seven largest LPM's (Local People Meters) used by Nielsen, listed with a business school(s) (often a good signal because they attract the top educational talent - aka intelligence) in the immediate area:

    Boston (Dems) - Harvard
    Chicago (Dems) - Uof Chicago/Northwestern
    Los Angeles (Dems) - Stanford/UCLA
    Philadelphia (Dems) - Wharton
    New York (Dems) - Columbia/NYU
    San Francisco (Dems) - Berkeley
    Wash DC (mix)

Any FACTS to refute, or just more signs?

    Re: West Wing

Thought I'd drop this helpful hint in here, not that I'm getting any cut of the sales If you're looking to specifically buy the DVD sets for Seasons 1 & 2, DON'T go the normal route and get them at a Best Buy or Circuit City, something like that where they appear to be the "regular" price of anywhere in the range from $30 - $45 or so. Nope, not when I just purchased them off Amazon.com last night for only $19.99 a piece And heck even with using their "standard shipping" (3-5 business days) my final actual total was something like $43.85, not bad for the first 44 episodes of one of the best TV dramas of the last decade (including all amenities of course -- this isn't some alternate bare bones edition).

However when talking about Seasons 3 thru 5 (5th available in Dec) whether you go thru Amazon or not you'll still pay the usual upwards of $45 or so (at least, from everywhere that I've looked so far). I can't wait to watch all the documentary, deleted scenes and outtakes stuff!

I keep forgetting when it's on thanks to the damn time change (showing that NBC doesn't give a damn about it anymore). This is the second week in a row that I've missed about the first 10 minutes of it
