I watched the DVD side of the We Shall Overcome dual disc last night. Nothing fancy. Some in-studio recordings of the songs.

Dual disc was a format concept that missed its window. If it'd come out, like, five years earlier, it would've done better. It'd still be gone now, but it would've done better.

Wondering what is going to happen with the Va Beach show Saturday. Forecast is looking extremely grim. Heavy rain and high winds.

so this is a stupid question...springsteen added a second pittsburgh date here on sunday; he opened the tour here back in january I believe. would he still play the river in its entirety (again) or would it being second show mean he wouldn't stick to that paradigm?

Couldn't make the new date on Labor Day unfortunately. At least I've seen them a few times already. Pisses that I missed Backstreets. One of my favorites.

Jealous of those in North Jersey and Philly. Every show looked spectacular. Gonna buy a few when they are released.

The 2 shows I saw in Philly were awesome. This is pretty much a perfect end to this tour. The energy's still top and these are some of his best setlists ever.

Just want to say that the show in Foxboro absolutely blew my mind. One of the best shows I've had the pleasure of seeing. Incredible what a showman he is and the things he does on stage at his age is insane.

New York City Serenade (with strings)
Prove It All Night ('78 intro)
Does This Bus Stop at 82nd Street?
    Blinded by the Light
It's Hard to Be a Saint in the City
    Growin' Up
    Spirit in the Night
    Lost in the Flood
    Kitty's Back
    Incident on 57th Street
    Rosalita
    No Surrender
    Boom Boom
Darkness on the Edge of Town
    Radio Nowhere
    Hungry Heart
    Out in the Street
    Detroit Medley
    Light of Day
4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy) (solo electric)
    American Skin (41 Shots)
    The Promised Land
    Because the Night
    The Rising
    Badlands
    ------------
    Long Walk Home (solo acoustic)
    Jungleland
    Born to Run
    Dancing in the Dark
    Tenth Avenue Freeze-out
    Shout
    Rockin' All Over the World
    Bobby Jean

I just got to meet him, take a picture, on Wednesday and get his new book signed. Cant believe who took the time to do that, obviously something he didnt have to do.

Obviously not much of an interaction but got a nice handshake & to tell him thanks for everything. Very awesome.

I wish I went to Freehold this week for the signing. Got the book yesterday and started it. His writing style is excellent. Going to really enjoy digging deep this weekend.

I know it was a year and a half ago at this point, but what were your overall thoughts on this show?

    Personally...

I wasn't going to catch a show on the final leg but once the set lists started to open up, I knew I had to catch one. I figured Pittsburgh was the perfect opportunity as the last arena show of the tour, the penultimate night of the tour, and the date being 9/11 (The Rising is the album that made me a fanatic). So I drove the 8 hours from Grand Rapids to Pittsburgh.

I've seen Springsteen over 25 times, and I've seen probably over 300 shows. This one was a top 5 show I've ever seen and there's absolutely no doubt about it.

I was misty eyed during "Into the Fire" and straight up bawling my eyes out by the time "You're Missing " was through. Then Mary's Place - a song I normally hate - was the perfect mood transition. Then the Darkness on the Edge of Town audible... from there on it was uber rarity after uber rarity. Lost in the Flood, Kitty's Back, Incident on 57th Streets...songs diehard fans chase for years and they were all in the same show. I got my first Downbound Train...

A truly legendary, inspiring, emotional show. I've accepted that was my last E. Street show and if true, I'm totally fine with it. No better way to go out.
