There's absolutely no guarantee he gets acquitted. If the State builds a strong enough case again, there's nothing else he can do. Hopefully this time there aren't glaring errors and oversights by his attorney.

I would think a competent attorney would be able to get him acquitted fairly easily. The state doesn't really have a case, beyond liar Jay. What do they do if he refused to testify again? I don't think they have that looming felony to hold over his head this time around.


Wouldn't be surprised if the state offered an Alford plea.

if anyone is looking to quench their Serial thirst, there's a new podcast called "Accused" that looks at a strange and potentially unsolved murder case in 1978. It's put on by a reporter and producer at the Cincinnati Enquirer. I'm 2 episodes in and it's already got me hooked.

How is it as far as gory details?

Almost all of my podcast listening now occurs with strangers in the car with me, so I have to be kind of selective about what I play. I can play true crime stuff if it's heavier on the law and lighter on the gore, so stuff like Undisclosed is okay, but stuff like Sword and Scale is not.

Undisclosed and real crime profile are my favorites.

I haven't enjoyed S2 of Undisclosed as much as I did the first one. It was a lot easier to get into the minutia of Adnan's case because I'd already gotten the narrative story version from Serial. Getting both the minutia and the story at the same time with this new case is a bit trying.

Still listening though.

I agree, I'm not the biggest fan of the Joey Watkins case, but I appreciate the effort they put into it. I do however really enjoy the addendum's with Jon Cryer.

I'm only 2 episodes in, but it's not bad. They describe how she died, etc but the details aren't really that gory. Side note - I'm assuming that you're an uber driver or something? If I was in your car, I'd probably tell you to just keep driving so I could keep listening

I've definitely had people ask me the show/ep so they can finish it at work.


I can just never be sure what's gonna hurt someone's butt, so for the most part I have to keep it pretty tame like This American Life or Planet Money. Undisclosed is probably so boring to the casual listener that they just tune it out, so I'm not too worried about that one, haha.

They won't have the bullshit cell tower evidence this time, which leaves Lyin' Jay as the only evidence against him.

Might have Asia as an alibi witness this time too.

There's no chance they get a second conviction.

If the State loses the next appeal of the overturn, I doubt they even take it back to trial. Alford plea would be my guess. What I'm curious about is if Adnan would take it. Horrible decision to have to make.

Yea that’s the thing. He’d get out, but he couldn’t get/sue for compensation for the wrongful conviction if he took it. If the State stole two decades of my life, I’d want to screw them to the wall. As much as I’d want to get out of prison? Idk. Probably not.
