Agreed, the only question is...what format are the masters in? Was this recorded to tape, or was it recorded to 16/44.1? I asked Lillywhite last night and he responded but I misworded my question and he only answered the first part of it about source lineage saying he's not involved with the vinyl release. I reasked my question to specify that I'm wondering how the original recording was done, tape, digital or both.
If it's only 16/44.1 then we can at least hope it's remastered like the LT vinyl were. There definitely exists more dyanmics in the masters, one need only look at select tracks from the DMB The Videos DVD to see this.
