Though, I did see the Clarks several years ago @ Mr Smalls only b/c I was given tickets and I guess I had nothing else to do that night. I was a little surprised at the # of songs I knew. Will not be at ribs fest, but I will be in the general area to watch Pitt probably lose to Delaware that Saturday.

Haha for free they're great! And the ribs are phenomenal. Will also be there for the Pitt game that Saturday. How terrible is their home schedule this year? Didn't even bother renewing my season tickets because every game except VT will be on Stubhub for under $5.

I just looked at their schedule and didn't realize how bad it was.

Anyway, speaking of Pittsburgh bands, has anyone ever heard or seen Lovebettie? I saw them open for TR3 at the hard rock a few years ag and really liked them. I think they just played one of the lunch concerts in Market Square and have another scheduled for September at Mellon Park.

Neither did we for the same reason!
Well, we stopped a few years ago b/c we kept missing the first 2 games b/c that's when we'd be on vacation. We're going in earlier August this year, but it just isn't worth buying the season. Plus, some of the games we take our son (he's 5) and some we don't want to, and I really wasn't buy 3 season tickets.

Won't stop my basketball, even though half the season I can't even give my tickets away. I wound up only going to 3 games last year - PSU, Wake & Duke.
Hopefully this year I'll actually make it to more!

No, chick lead singer. They have a more rock sound than DMB.

I have been wait listed for Pitt hoops tickets for three years now and had a chance to buy them last year. Upper corner it was $600 for the season so I passed. Even at that, that's not worth it. Duke and Syracuse were the only two games that tickets were tough to get and you could get a ticket to Duke for $200 and Syracuse like $60.

A few months ago, the ticket office called soliciting people to buy season tickets. I was polite, but declined and specified it was due to the home schedule. He was like "But they play Duke at home." Not going to get me there for football, but thanks!

    I debated, trust me.
You can easily pick up the tickets for just the games you want and spend less, especially when you factor in the panther club donation.

But Duke played in a major bowl last year!

Anyway, the problem is the way the ACC set up the schedule. With Miami, FSU, and ND all home last year this was bound to happen. Will have up and down years.

EDIT: That and FSU is on the opposite side of the ACC

Not in PA very often but on Sunday after the DMB show we had brunch at Kaya on Smallman, shrimp and scallop ceviche app and wife had huevos rancheros and I the waffles and chicken, really good food and great atmosphere with some excellent roots reggae in the background. Afterwards went a few doors down and had a blindingly good coffee at 21st Street Coffee, slow brewing each cup to order...insanely good coffee. Had a couple of little donuts fried fresh next door also.

Look forward to visiting again some day to take in more of the excellent food Pittsburgh has to offer.

Glad you enjoyed your trip to Pittsburgh. Come visit again! Kaya is a great place in general, for brunch or dinner. It is part of a family of restaurants called the Big Burrito group that serve stellar food in general. Look for Eleven, Soba or Casbah. The Strip District (where Kaya is located) has lots of fun little restaurants/shops. I also highly recommend Meat and Potatoes and it's sister restaurant Butcher and the Rye. Both serve great cocktails, and Butcher has over 350 types of bourbon and whiskey.
