Ohio Stadium would be awesome, but DMB wouldn't come close to filling it. I saw U2 there in 1997, and even though there were 43,000 some people at that concert, it still looked about half full. The record for a football game is 105,000 or something ridiculous.
DMB Crew Stadium 2008 was about half full. Anybody have a Billboard Boxscore attendance figure for that show? I'm not normally a venue snob, but I didn't like that venue at all.
Huntington Park was sold out in 2010 with about 14,000 people. Would make a nice midweek show, but they don't seem to enjoy playing the minor league ballparks, because they stopped doing so. I couldn't make that show due to a work obligation (but made up for it by going to Deer Creek).
Nationwide Arena or Value City Arena would be our best bet of getting a show. Hopefully there is a winter tour this year and we get some attention. I've never seen DMB indoors, so that'd be a different experience. Being on Ohio State's campus, Value City Arena tends to get bands that cater to a younger crowd (Black Keys, Muse, Kings of Leon), while Nationwide Arena is in the heart of the downtown, and gets the older generation's bands (Aerosmith, Rush, etc). Which crowd would be DMB's nowadays??
