I have been playing in a 12-team, NON-ppr, Yahoo default league for the past few years. All scoring default, rosters (I think) are default as well: QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 W/R/T, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF, 5 BN. Overall I've done well, and I have become used to what works best in the draft for me, based on those settings.

This year I will be in a second league with much different settings: QB is scored 6pt/pass TD and 1pt/15 pass yards. 10-team, NON-ppr. All other scoring is default. Rosters are different as well: QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 W/R, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF, 6 BN.

Using a 300yd/3TD game as a quick example, the difference in QB scoring from default settings to our custom league would be 38 points vs 24 points.

I guess my main question is: how much does this change the thought of "waiting on a QB (which has been my stategy)?" And what else should I take into consideration when drafting in this custom scoring league? Any advice at all help!

- Thanks
Everyone gets a loaded roster in 10-team leagues.
QB is deep that even in 12-team leagues you can wait and get great value.
If you're not getting Peyton or Rodgers in your new league, might as well wait.

Questions involving top 2nd tier recievers: should they both fall to you, who are you taking, Julio Jones or Dez Bryant?
I'd assume Dez but it's not like either is a bad option if healthy.
If by "fall to you" you mean the top of round 2, it might be just a tad early for Julio though.

I personally like him as one of those low risk picks that could help out down the road. ATL will have their WRs back, an actual NFL o-line...seems like a place would you could take a chance. I'm all about trying to find a few guys in the mid-later that are sliding because of last year's stats and hoping for a rebound.

Won't be touching S-Jax this year. If I were to pick a Falcons RB it would be Freeman who will get more time when S-Jax inevitably goes down and who you can get much later.

there are even less sure-fire RBs this year than last year.
i see Dez going first round for the majority of 12-team leagues.
Dez could be the best WR in fantasy this year with Linehan as new OC, possibly one of the worst defenses of all-time and Dez in a contract year. If I can get him early 2nd round I'm taking him.

    Was also considering Calvin.
6 seems so early for a WR though.
So different building after taking a receiver in the 1st instead of an RB.

No way I would take Lynch over Megatron or Lacey. I could see them cutting down his workload to mix in Michael and he's gotta start breaking down soon.

I think I'm gonna try and go RB-QB-WR-WR. I know it's crazy taking a QB in the early rounds, but with the depth of the WR position this year I'm really thinking about it...

one of my leagues, I have Foster as a 6th round keeper for like the last 3-4 years and going to keep him again. He always seems nicked up in the preseason and as long as he is standing, he will get the rock a lot and I'll get good value for the 6th round.

It all depends what pick I have and who is available. No way I could predict what position I'm taking in the 4th rd. Some times you have to adjust on the fly, to which position is on a run

Well of course you're going to have him as a 6th round pick. I still can't believe some of your guys leagues just let you keep people for crazy value for years and years

Might be alone in this, but the only QBs I'd take in the 2nd are Peyton or Rodgers.
Peyton's probably a 1st rounder in many leagues though.
Brees in the 2nd is the last before the dropoff but I'd rather wait for a QB instead.

Only way I'm taking a QB early is if someone falls. Too many good values later in the draft IMO

Am I the only one who doesn't understand the hate for Nick Foles? I understand he's gonna cool off some but I've seen him going in rounds 8-9 in some of the mock drafts I've seen. Like I said, he'll come down somewhat but that offense is going to put up a lot of points.. Especially in that division.

Here's my keeper for a 12-team, .5 PPR league where we start QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, Flex, TE, D/ST. We've got a $200 auction budget and I can keep two of the following - Jeffrey ($13), Gronk ($14), Stacy ($20) and Gordon ($15) if his suspension is overturned. I'm leaning towards Jeffrey and Gronk. What do y'all say?

Who would you rather keep: Alfred Morris or Zac Stacy? I have an offer to trade Stacy for a 5th round pick. Either keeper would forfeit a very late round pick for me.

Well there's no way this will work out in real life...but I went with the zero RB philosophy, picking 7th, and it actually didn't turn out too bad. I mean, I have no solidified RBs but still.

The fact Brady is ranked so low and available in the 8-9 rounds is crazy - so much QB depth. Same with WRs.

    QB: Brady (8)
    RB: Rice (6), Miller (10), Michael (11)
    WR: Johnson (1), Bryant (2), Jeffery (3) White (5), Edelman (7), Randle (12), Stills (15)
    TE: Gronk (4), Rudolph (9)
    D: Rams (14)

    Alfred Morris.
And both will go before the 5th round,
so no, would not trade for that pick.

The fact Brady is ranked so low and available in the 8-9 rounds is crazy - so much QB depth. Same with WRs.

    QB: Brady (8)
    RB: Rice (6), Miller (10), Michael (11)
    WR: Johnson (1), Bryant (2), Jeffery (3) White (5), Edelman (7), Randle (12), Stills (15)
    TE: Gronk (4), Rudolph (9)
    D: Rams (14)
damn, Johnson, Dez and Jeffrey. All the receivers are sweet. If Gronk stays healthy and Rudolph plays to what many expect you could actually have some nice trade bait to get a top rb. I wouldn't feel too awful about Rice and Miller though. There is some potential there. Even Michael. That's not too bad to try in a real draft.

You know, even though I joked about it, if this would've happened in my real drafts, I would've been thrilled. If I'm not getting a legit RB1, then I gotta get the upper hand elsewhere, and not reach just for the sake of getting a RB. If Gronk is back, then that's fantastic, and if not, hopefully Rudolph comes along with Turner as OC. Obviously it was an online mock, but it was still interesting to go through.

There are some decent backs in rounds 5 and 6 that I would be comfortable rolling with. If those top 4 rbs are off the board, I'm going wr top heavy to start. I'd consider Rodgers if he makes it to round 3. I think he may be the top qb this year. I never really go with a top qb, but if I can pair a top qb with 2 top wrs I'd feel pretty good about my team.

Normally wait late to pick up a QB, Romo is there in the 5th most the time so I usually grab him up
