Re: ***Official Ohio 2015***

Not sure what we are doing before the concert; Coney Island security told us to finish our beers and not open anymore like 3 hours before the show, and we weren't even close to any of the public, we had like a back parking lot spot. They completely went out of their way to tell us no drinking, I was pretty upset.

Hey folks. Never been to blossom and am thinking of surprising the wife with tickets and bringing along the kids. By the looks of it there aren't any bad seat, is that correct? Also, are the sections in the 30s covered? The pictures I've looked at seem to be but an opinion from someone who has been there would be appreciated.
One last question, what's the crowd typically like? Wouldn't want to take the kids if it's typically a bunch of drunk crazy people.
Drunk we could handle, crazy not so much.
    Thanks.

Great venue...and yes the sections in the 30's are covered. The WH tickets we got in section 34 back to back years were good seats. There isn't much out there right now but there are like 5-8 available tickets in section 37 showing up right now....and those are the first tickets other than lawn that I have seen show up for Blossom in like a month.

As to the crowd, when I went in 2010 it was very mellow. I'd assume this year is going to be the same - show is on a Wednesday and not near any huge college towns (not that college is in session in early July besides summer classes, anyway).

Buy a parking pass too. Is this going to be a quick trip or do you need some other things to do while in northern Ohio?

Planned to come down the day of the show and stay overnight. Head back home the following evening so somewhere in the neighbourhood of a 30 hr visit. If you have suggestions for thing to do and see please share. Keep in mind the kids 8/13 will be tagging along, but they're easily entertained and probably be more excited and open to see or do new things.

there's always the Rock n' Roll HOF in Cleveland, which is only about 40 minutes from Blossom. Also, the best amusement park in the world (AKA Cedar Point) is in Sandusky, 80 minutes away... however that really needs at LEAST one full day to take it all in, and more ideally two.

Had thought about the R'n'R HoF. Would be great to geek out at all the displays. Might be lost our little one but the older one will appreciate most of it. You're right about the park too. That needs to be a full days adventure. Leave no ride unridden!

If you tailgate, cops leave you alone if u r drinking if you keep it in a cup.

Otherwise, Venue is definitely family friendly. This is the 4th year that my wife and i have brought our daughter (13yo), and we never have issues. My daughter is used to seeing drunk behavior...beyond that, it is a party. Even when we were bringing her at 9, fans are courteous to the fact that a kid is around. (One suggestion, bring ear plugs for the kids, they will still hear the music fine and make it less deafening.) Enjoy the show.

We had our 3 year old in section 12 of the pavilion last year and didn't have any problems. Actually after the show some random guy gave my son his VIP poster, my son was estatic!

I saw on this string someone mention to make sure to buy the 20.00 parking at Blossom. Considering that parking is free otherwise, what is the benefit(s) to paying $20.00 to park?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Brutus

The premiere and VIP are much closer to the venue and it is a LONG walk to GA parking. The paid parking lots are paved as well compared to being in the grass for the rest of the parking.

back in 2010 when I last attended Blossom, it took me about 25 minutes to walk to the general area in the regular "GA" parking where my car was, and another 20-25 minutes to actually find it. By the time I got into my car and turned the ignition, the lots were pretty well cleared out

    **or**
FT: 1 WH Pit Burgettstown and 1 WH Pit Blossom for 2 lowers at Blossom

I don't mean to be confusing. I need 4 at Blossom close together and I already have 2 lowers. I'd also but 2 lowers at Blossom if someone just wants to sell and not trade. Thanks

You won't regret it! Such a beautiful venue, and such a great live band! I'd love to take my family, but my kids are 2 and almost 4. Not yet. Hopefully DMB are still touring when they're old enough to appreciate!

The ONLY bad experience I've had there is back in 2007 DMB. It had rained for several days at that point, and the ground was completely saturated. The grass parking lots were a mud pit, with many people getting stuck. Luckily my friends car had AWD and we were on the high ground. But I felt so bad for all those people whose cars were stuck. Some guy with a tow truck or even a tractor made a lot of money that night!

Attending river bend for the first time, is there tailgating allowed? Where do you guys meet up to pregame? I keep reading about a casino.

    How is the parking situation?

They are bad about tailgating. If you park in the grass over by the park entrance, you can maybe get away with some. You can park across the street from the venue and casino but they charge I think $20 to park there. Tailgating is a bust here.

If you and the kids are outdoorsy - there are plenty of trails to hike in the Cuyahoga Valley National Forest. http://www.nps.gov/cuva/planyourvisit/hiking.htm

If you would rather stay inside, I see someone already suggested the RRHOF. The Great Lakes Science Center is next door to the RRHOF, which your kids may find very entertaining. If you make the drive up to Cleveland, there are plenty of good places to eat and drink. Please do not go to a chain establishment while you're here... there are too many good places to eat that go out of their way to source locally.

If staying closer to the venue is preferred, there is the Pro Football Hall of Fame and Museum in Canton. There is also a (for Ohio) very good vinyard not too far from the Pro Football HOF - http://www.gervasivineyard.com/ They have good food, beautiful outdoor seating, and bocci ball which can keep the kids entertained.

Riverbend tickets shipped today. Got section 900 row AA. Not knowing seat numbers yet, I'm assuming I should be safe even if I'm on the outer edge? Any thoughts?

If you park in the Riverbend/Coney Island area, this is 100%. They try to get you into the venue as soon as you park.

Past 2 years we have parked across the street from the main entrance. You can tailgate here. It is a large grass lot, on the corner of Sutton and Kellogg. Cops do walk around, but they leave you alone as long as you are not being stupid. There was no cost for these areas. Not sure about the casino garage.

We have arrived in this lot at 4pm the past 2 years, and have had a blast. Doing it again this year.
