I felt the need to add to my site being the anniversary of the passing of Roi. I didn't get to nearly as many charts as I'd wanted to, but I managed to add the following:

Hard day today. That day in 2008 I was at work, got news, started crying, called by band mates over, called wife told her to get my money and get a nice bottle of bourbon. The four of us just listened to and watched shows in disbelief.

I was on a ship. We were at a home port, either Miami or San Diego, cause I remember getting a text from one of my best friends from high school asking if I'd heard. i had gotten a few other messages, but thought it was some stupid inside joke or prank. But when she texted me, I knew it was for real, since she isn't a big fan. I had been in touch with Roi's cousin that summer who was overly kind enough to give me very basic updates. Last I'd heard was that he was on a plane to LA to see the guys play, which is why I didn't believe it.
It took the wind out of me for a minute and I toasted several shots in him memory that night at sea. I still tear up during the old outro jam to So Damn Lucky thinking about it. Hell, I choked up when that horn like for Idea Of You kicked in while I was transcribing it. I hadn't listened to that song in years and it took me by surprise.
